Tottenham has stabbed Son Heung-min (33, Tottenham) in the back.

The Guardian reported on the 15th that "Tottenham is set to fully acquire Matthijs Tel for about 35 million euros (approximately 55.3 billion won). The contract is expected to be announced within 48 hours."

Currently, Matthijs Tel is on loan from Bayern Munich to Tottenham. Tel is predicted to potentially be Son Heung-min's replacement. The speculation is that Tottenham's decision to secure Tel takes into account Son Heung-min's absence.

The Guardian elaborated, saying, "Tottenham paid a loan fee of 10 million euros to Bayern Munich for acquiring Tel on loan ahead of the second half of the Premier League. The aggregates transfer fee is 45 million euros (approximately 71 billion won)."

Tel is a versatile attacking resource with quick feet and the ability to finish with both feet. Despite being only 20 years old, he has proven his skills at the adult level. Tottenham believes that if the young Tel develops as planned, he could replace Son Heung-min in the long run.

This year, Son Heung-min fulfilled his long-standing desire for a trophy by winning the Europa League. Suffering from a foot injury, Son was not in top form and came on as a substitute in the final. As the victory was confirmed, Son could not hold back his tears. It was the first moment of victory after joining Tottenham in 2015. Tottenham celebrated their triumph with a cup parade in London.

However, Son Heung-min is now a veteran at 33 years old. In the long term, Son Heung-min is being excluded from Tottenham's future plans. Chairman Daniel Levy is expected to sell Son Heung-min and use the transfer fee obtained to acquire new players, aiming for team restructuring.
