Professional baseball SSG Landers has escaped from a three-game losing streak.

SSG won 1-0 against the Lotte Giants in the 2025 Shinhan Bank SOL Bank KBO League game held at Incheon SSG Landers Field on the 15th.

Guillermo Heredia played a crucial role, going 2-for-4 with 1 home run, 1 RBI, 1 run, and 1 walk, including his second home run of the season. Go Myung-jun also contributed with a multi-hit performance.

Starting pitcher Drew Anderson earned his fifth win of the season with 7 innings pitched, allowing 5 hits, 1 walk, and striking out 11 while not giving up a run. Lee Ro-un (1 inning, no runs), Jo Byeong-hyeon (1 inning, no runs), and Jo Byeong-hyeon (1 inning, no runs) followed in the bullpen, securing the team’s victory. Jo Byeong-hyeon earned his 13th save of the season.

The game developed into a fierce pitching duel. Lotte starting pitcher Lee Min-seok pitched 5⅓ innings, allowing 5 hits (including 1 home run), 2 walks, striking out 6 and giving up 1 run while Jeong Hyeon-su (⅓ inning, no runs), Kim Kang-hyun (1 inning, no runs), Yoon Seong-bin (⅓ inning, no runs), and Choi Jun-Yong (1 inning, no runs) also showcased scoreless pitching.

However, SSG secured the victory with a single home run. In the bottom of the 6th inning, lead-off hitter Heredia hit a solo home run that cleared the left-center fence off a 148 km/h fastball from Lee Min-seok. This home run became the decisive run of the game.

SSG manager Lee Seung-yong noted in a post-game interview, "Today, we won the game thanks to the great performances of the foreign players both in batting and pitching. Anderson showcased perfect pitching as expected from an ace. With aggressive pitching, he struck out many batters (11) and pitched 7 scoreless innings efficiently. He is the hero of the victory," praising Anderson for his performance.

"Heredia’s home run in the 6th inning became the winning run," said manager Lee Seung-yong, adding, "It's positive for the team that Heredia's condition is improving." He encouraged Heredia for hitting the important home run. He also expressed appreciation to the fans for their enthusiastic support despite the bad weather, saying, "We will have a good away series starting the 17th."

In the three-game series this weekend where one game was canceled due to rain, SSG recorded 1 win and 1 loss, and will face the Kiwoom Heroes in a three-game away series starting on the 17th at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul.
