Under coach Gus Poyet, Jeonbuk recorded 5 wins and 2 draws in 7 matches held in May, remaining unbeaten. Throughout May, Jeonbuk earned 17 points, the highest among all teams in K League 1 and 2 during the same period.
Jeonbuk got off to a good start by winning their first match in May, defeating Seoul 1-0 in Round 11.
