The popularity of Jeon Jin-woo (26, Jeonbuk) is soaring. FK Crvena zvezda is keeping an eye on him.

Serbia's largest sports magazine, "Novosti," reported on the 16th (Korean time) that "Crvena zvezda wants another player from the South Korean national team. This time, it is right winger Jeon Jin-woo."

Jeon Jin-woo has recorded 12 goals and 6 assists as of the 18th round of the league. His attacking point per game (0.9) is a testament to him being one of the most threatening wingers in the league. Especially when Jeonbuk's offense has struggled, he has emerged as a problem solver. He is currently among the best in the K League for one-on-one breakthroughs and shooting, and he is one of the few players capable of scoring from outside the penalty box.

With his outstanding performance this season, he was selected by coach Hong Myung-bo for the national team. In the June World Cup qualifiers, he recorded his first attacking point by assisting Oh Hyun-kyu's goal in the match against Iraq, and although it was later changed to an own goal in the match against Kuwait, he made his presence felt by shaking the net.

At his club team Jeonbuk, he has played as a second-line winger and performed a versatile role, switching between the flanks and the middle in the national team, leading to Jeon Jin-woo being evaluated as more than just a 'wing attacker.' With his dribbling, finishing, and linking play, he is considered the most 'complete' winger currently in the K League.

Teams that have witnessed this progress, such as Crvena zvezda, have enjoyed good returns through Hwang In-beom and Seol Young-woo. "Hwang In-beom showcased outstanding performance while playing for Crvena zvezda during the 2023-2024 season, and he is evaluated as one of the best foreign players in the history of the league," the magazine noted.

"The newly joined Seol Young-woo is not a player with outstanding skills like Hwang In-beom, but he has not once been excluded from the lineup last season, and although he initially played as a left fullback, he has recently shown good form as a right fullback," it reported.

"Based on the good synergy with Korean players, Crvena zvezda seeks to recruit another Korean player," it reported.

"Jeon Jin-woo, who is affiliated with Jeonbuk Hyundai and plays as a right winger, has scored 12 goals in the K League. As a key resource for the league's leading team, he was recently selected for the national team and performed in two World Cup qualifying matches. He recorded an assist in the Iraq match (2-0 win) and also scored in the Kuwait match (4-0 win)," it spotlighted.

"According to South Korean media, Jeon Jin-woo's transfer fee is estimated to be between €1.5 million and €2 million (approximately 24 billion to 32 billion won), but it is uncertain whether Jeonbuk will easily let him go, considering they are currently aiming for the league championship," it added.
