Following Yannick Sinner (24, Italy), Carlos Alcaraz (22, Spain), who is ranked second in the world in tennis, revealed his friendliness toward Real Madrid's new recruit Trent Alexander-Arnold (27).

The British 'Daily Mail' reported on the 16th (Korea time) that Alcaraz, known as a passionate fan of Real Madrid, expressed support for Alexander-Arnold, who has become a traitor to Liverpool fans, and was particularly impressed by the fluency in Spanish he showed during the induction ceremony.

Alexander-Arnold donned the Real Madrid uniform as a free agent (FA) after his contract with Liverpool expired this summer. Real Madrid paid a compensation fee of £10 million (about 18.5 billion won) to feature Arnold in the FIFA Club World Cup, but acquired him without a transfer fee.

Arnold is set to make his Real Madrid debut against Al Hilal (Saudi Arabia) in a group stage match of the Club World Cup in Miami, USA, on the 19th.

Arnold captured the hearts of Real fans and club officials with his fluent Spanish greeting at the time of his induction. Receiving the number 12 jersey, Arnold said, "It feels like a dream has come true. I'm really happy and proud to be here," while proclaiming the slogan toward Real, "Hala Madrid."

However, Liverpool fans were enraged that the 'local boy' Arnold, who grew up in the club's youth system, left as a free agent without renegotiating his contract. For fans, a homegrown player leaving the club without leaving a transfer fee is perceived as a disloyal act.

In fact, Arnold misled fans by behaving as if he would stay without showing a clear stance on renegotiation. Ultimately, Arnold has been branded a "traitor" by Liverpool fans.

Notably, Liverpool fans who watched Arnold's fluent Spanish greeting criticized, "Wasn't it planned long ago to transfer?" They see it as "evidence of betraying Liverpool."

On the other hand, Alcaraz noted in an interview with the BBC, "It is not easy to speak in another language in front of a new club, manager, and teammates," emphasizing, "I really respect that he did it perfectly. I want to definitely talk to him in our country’s language, Spanish, when I meet him someday" while highly evaluating Arnold's efforts.

Alcaraz also expressed, "It's truly wonderful that Arnold has joined Real Madrid. I'm sure he will become the best right-back in the world," revealing his expectations. Alcaraz is currently preparing for the Queens Club Championship in the UK.
