Professional baseball team Hanwha Eagles ascended to first place after beating LG Twins for the first time in 32 days. The game was interrupted for 104 minutes during the bottom of the fifth inning due to heavy rain before resuming.

Hanwha won 10-5 in the 10th matchup against LG at Hanwha Life Eagles Park in Daejeon on the 15th. Hanwha dropped to second place after losing to Doosan on May 14, falling from joint first place. They reclaimed first place after 33 days.

Hanwha flipped a 0-4 deficit to 9-4. They tied the game in the bottom of the fourth after trailing 0-4, and the game was interrupted due to rain in the fifth inning before resuming, which led to a five-run big inning as they turned the game around. The game was suspended at 6:43 p.m. due to heavy rain and resumed at 8:27 p.m.

Starting pitcher Moon Dong-ju allowed six hits, three walks, and four earned runs in 3⅔ innings before being pulled early. Hwang Jun-seo recorded a relief win after pitching 1⅓ innings with two hits and no runs allowed. Cho Dong-uk (⅔ inning), Park Sang-won (1 inning), Han Seung-hyeok (1 inning), Kim Beom-Su (⅓ inning), and Kim Jong-soo (1 inning, 1 earned run) followed in the game.

With two outs and a runner on second and third, Choi Jae-hun's ground ball to second base was well caught by second baseman Shin Min-jae with a diving catch. In the fifth inning, after one out, Moon Sung-ju reached on a single in front of the left fielder. Gu Bon-hyeok tried a surprise bunt, but the catcher caught it and threw to first for an out. On a wave of momentum, Hanwha succeeded in taking the lead in the fifth inning. Leadoff batter Ahn Chi-hong reached base with a single to left field. In the eighth inning, with two outs, Roh Si-hwan faced LG pitcher Jung Woo-young and hit a fastball that reached 147 km/h right down the middle with a lightning-like swing, launching a solo home run (season 15) over the right-center wall, signaling his return to first place. The score became 10-4.

Hanwha brought in Kim Jong-soo as the final pitcher in the ninth inning to finish the game. Kim Joo-sung came on as a pinch hitter and hit a solo home run over the left field wall, marking his second career home run.
