Professional baseball manager Kim Tae-hyoung of the Lotte Giants has decided to use Kim Dong-hyeok as the leadoff.

Lotte constructed their starting lineup with Kim Dong-hyeok (center fielder), Go Seung-min (first baseman), Víctor Reyes (right fielder), Jeon Jun-woo (left fielder), Kim Min-sung (third baseman), Jeon Min-jae (shortstop), Son Ho-young (second baseman), Jung Hoon (designated hitter), and Jeung Bo-keun (catcher) for the match against the SSG Landers held on 15th at Incheon SSG Landers Field. The starting pitcher is Lee Min-seok.

After losing both leadoff players to consecutive injuries, Lotte is experimenting with finding a new leadoff. Hwang Seong-bin suffered a fracture injury to his left ring finger while sliding into first base during the game against the SSG on May 5, and Jang Du-seong, who excellently filled Hwang’s absence, suffered a lung hemorrhage injury after being hit by a pitch from pitcher Park Young-hyun during the game against KT on the 12th. Both players are currently excluded from the first-team roster.

In the game against left-handed starting pitcher Kim Kwang-hyun on the 14th, Lotte utilized right-handed hitter Son Ho-young as the leadoff. However, he did not make a noticeable contribution, going 0-for-4 with one run scored. When right-handed starting pitcher Drew Anderson came in, Kim Dong-hyeok was put into the lineup as the first center fielder.

Kim Dong-hyeok has a batting average of .280 with 7 hits in 25 at-bats, 2 RBIs, 9 runs scored, and 8 stolen bases in 40 games this season. This is his second time serving as leadoff since the game against Doosan on the 6th.

Meanwhile, the SSG lineup will include Choi Ji-hoon (center fielder), Jung Jun-jae (second baseman), Guillermo Heredia (left fielder), Han Yoo-seom (designated hitter), Go Myung-jun (first baseman), Park Seong-han (shortstop), Jo Hyung-woo (catcher), Kim Seong-wook (right fielder), and Seok Jeong-woo (third baseman). The starting pitcher is Anderson.
