The professional baseball LG Twins achieved a comeback victory over the SSG Landers for two consecutive days, securing a winning streak.

The leader LG maintained its 0.5-game lead over the second-place Hanwha Eagles and reached 40 wins. LG won 8-6 in the 12th matchup of the 2025 KBO League against SSG at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul on the 12th.

Following the previous day (11th), they exchanged comebacks. LG's leadoff hitter Kim Hyun-soo reached base with a walk, and Shin Min-jae hit a single to right field, creating a chance with runners on first and third with no outs. After one out, Moon Bo-gyeong's sacrifice fly to left field scored the first run.

LG starter Chirinous struggled in the second inning. After one out, Go Myung-jun hit an infield single to second base, followed by Park Seong-han's single to right field and Jeong Jun-jae's infield single to first base, creating a bases-loaded crisis. He allowed a timely hit to Jo Hyung-woo to fall behind 1-2. After that, with one out and runners on first and second, he got Kim Chan-hyung to hit into a ground ball out, and struck out Choi Ji-hoon with two outs on second and third, escaping the crisis.

Chirinous allowed a double to Park Seong-han to left-center and a single to Jeong Jun-jae, placing runners on first and third after one out in the fourth. He also allowed the runner on first to steal second base. He struck out Jo Hyung-woo but then had a wild pitch that went behind him, resulting in a not out on the runner who reached first safely, allowing the runner on third to score.

LG made a comeback in the bottom of the fourth inning. Lead-off hitter Song Chan-ui reached base after being hit by a pitch, and Lee Ju-heon hit a single that deflected off the shortstop, creating a chance with runners on first and third. When Lee Young-bin hit into a double play to the second baseman, the runner on third scored, making the score 3-2.

LG overturned the game in the fifth inning. A brilliant pinch-hitting strategy worked. Lead-off hitter Shin Min-jae reached base with a single, followed by Austin's single to left field after one out. With two outs and runners on second and third, Moon Sung-ju hit a timely single to left field to tie the game at 3-3. Then, with two outs and runners on first and third, Park Dong-won came in to bat for Song Chan-ui. Park Dong-won hit a double that hit the right field wall, allowing both base runners to cross home plate and turning the game around to 5-3. With two outs and a runner on second, Lee Ju-heon's ground ball was misplayed by the shortstop, allowing the runner on second to score, extending the lead to 6-3.

Starter Chirinous recorded 5⅔ innings, allowing 9 hits, 2 walks, 5 strikeouts, and 4 earned runs. In the sixth inning, with two outs and runners on first and third, he gave up a timely hit to Eredia, making the score 6-4. Kim Jin-sung, who came in as a reliever, struck out Lee Jeong and ended the inning.

Kim Jin-sung pitched a scoreless inning and, in the seventh, with two outs and runners on first and second, Lee Ji-kang came in as a reliever. Lee Ji-kang struck out Jo Hyung-woo and roared, and he also pitched a scoreless inning in the eighth, recording 1⅓ innings without allowing a run.

In the seventh inning, LG's lead-off hitter Moon Sung-ju reached base with a double to right, and with two outs and a runner on second, Lee Young-bin hit a timely single up the middle, extending the score to 7-4. LG created a chance with consecutive hits from Choi Won-young and Austin in the eighth, and when Moon Bo-gyeong hit a ground ball to the second baseman, the runner on third scored.

Park Myeong-geun, who came in for the ninth inning with an 8-4 lead, allowed a one-out double to Park Seong-han, and with one out and runners on first and third, Lee Ji-young added another run with a ground ball to the shortstop. However, he managed to secure the victory.

Manager Youm Kyoung-youb said after the game, "Chirinous did well in his role as a starter, and the winning pitchers took responsibility for their innings, creating a stepping stone for the victory."

Manager Youm also commented on the lineup, which recorded 15 hits, saying, "Moon Sung-ju hit the equalizer in the fifth inning, allowing us to shift the momentum of the game to our side. In crucial moments, Park Dong-won's go-ahead two-run timely hit and Lee Ju-heon's additional runs allowed for somewhat of a comfortable operation. We were in a chasing situation after allowing runs, but I think Lee Young-bin's run was the decisive score for victory."

He added, "Congratulations to Park Hae-min on his 4 hits, and I hope today’s 4 hits will help improve his batting form."

Finally, he noted, "Thanks to the passionate support of the fans today, we were able to achieve a victory and complete the winning series. I am grateful."
