The Korea Rugby Association announced on the 13th that it has signed an international exchange agreement with Beijing University of Chemical Technology. This agreement is designed to nurture future-oriented talent through mutual cooperation between the two institutions and cultivate future talents suitable for the global era.

Beijing University of Chemical Technology International Education Institute, established in 2011, is a directly affiliated institution of Beijing University of Chemical Technology that specializes in international education and has steadily grown within China. Through this agreement, opportunities for exchanges between Korean students and Chinese students will be expanded, and a diverse range of global talents, including sports talents, will be jointly nurtured.

Through this agreement, cooperation in various institutional sectors such as student exchange and talent development is planned. In particular, the two institutions aim to contribute to the development of broad international exchanges between the two countries through exchanges in sports, language, and culture, going beyond mere sports cooperation.

According to the agreement, students wishing to study abroad will receive career guidance through language and experiential learning programs on campus to understand the cultures of both countries. Additionally, scholarships will be provided according to internal regulations for students with excellent grades during the preparatory period and for those from schools recommended by the Korea Rugby Association upon advancing to the main program.

Beijing University of Chemical Technology conducts an international preparatory program that guarantees admission for students from Korea who are currently in the 3rd year of high school, allowing them to receive advance admission letters. Incoming students will attend classes in the main program after completing a basic Chinese language course, as well as the preparatory program for the main program and experiential activities in Chinese culture on the local campus to improve their language skills.

Among prestigious universities, there is a department that grants a bachelor's degree in education after four years, titled "Department of Social Sports Guidance and Management." Active participation in sports teams, including rugby, table tennis, volleyball, taekwondo, and badminton, is highly encouraged, which is expected to provide a good opportunity for students dreaming of becoming global sports leaders, engaging in sports marketing, management, and sports product trading.

Shin Young-bok, president of the Korea Rugby Association, said, "I hope this agreement leads to more active educational cooperation based on sports, and I expect both institutions to grow together through mutual cooperation." He added, "I hope students can smoothly adapt and establish themselves in international society based on their rugby experiences."
