Professional baseball player Yoon Seong-bin of the Lotte Giants showcased a powerful performance in the Futures League.

Yoon Seong-bin took the mound as a relief pitcher in a game against Sangmu in the 2025 Futures League at the Mungyeong Stadium on the 12th, pitching 2 innings, recording 5 Samjin, and allowing 1 run. He demonstrated his pitching prowess by striking out 4 consecutive batters and securing 6 outs with 5 swinging Samjin. Although he allowed a run, he did not issue any walks. His control is steadily improving.

With the team trailing 3-4 in the bottom of the sixth, Yoon Seong-bin came in as the second pitcher after starter Jeong Woo-jun. He wrapped up the sixth inning with KKK. He struck out the first batter, Kim Hyun-jun, with a swinging Samjin on the fourth pitch. The next batter, Han Seung-yeon, also went down swinging on the fourth pitch. Then, Ryu Seung-min ended the inning with a 3-pitch Samjin on a strike-foul-swing sequence.

Lotte tied the game at 4-4 in the top of the seventh. Yoon Seong-bin struck out the 4-hitter Ryu Hyun-in with a swinging Samjin at 2 strikes. He then recorded the second out by getting Han Dong-hee, the league leader in home runs and batting average, to ground out to the shortstop.

However, after two outs, he allowed a single to Lee Jae-won and permitted a stolen base to second. He gave up a double to left field to Yun Jun-ho, allowing a run. He ended the inning with a swinging Samjin against power hitter Jeon Ui-san on a 1-ball, 2-strike count.

Yoon Seong-bin made his first-team debut as a starting pitcher against LG on May 20, 2025. It was his first appearance in 10 months, and the results were disappointing: he pitched 1 inning, giving up 4 hits, 6 walks, 1 hit by pitch, and allowed 9 runs. Despite hitting a maximum speed of 157 km/h, he was prematurely pulled without recording an out in the second inning due to ongoing control issues.

The next day, Yoon Seong-bin was sent down to the second team and is currently pitching as a relief pitcher in the Futures League. Manager Kim Tae-hyoung noted that he should throw in situations that require relief during the game to help him overcome pressure.

Yoon Seong-bin pitched 3 innings against KIA on May 24, recording 2 hits, 2 walks, 4 Samjin, and allowing 2 runs. In the game against NC on May 28, he pitched 3 innings, gave up 1 hit and 1 walk while securing 5 Samjin without allowing any runs.

In the match against Sangmu on the 4th, he struggled, pitching 1⅓ innings and allowing 5 hits, 2 walks, and 2 Samjin, resulting in 2 runs. During back-to-back outings against NC on the 6th and 7th, he pitched 2 innings without any hits, allowing 1 walk and recording 3 Samjin without giving up any runs, followed by 1⅔ innings with 2 hits but no walks, and 3 Samjin without allowing any runs.

On the 12th against Sangmu, although he allowed a run, he showcased his powerful pitching by accumulating 5 Samjin over 2 innings, marking back-to-back outings without any walks.

Yoon Seong-bin, who joined Lotte as the first overall pick in the 2017 rookie draft, throws a powerful fastball in the mid-150 km/h range, but has struggled with control issues and has not been able to realize his potential in his ninth year.

He made his debut in 2018 and had his best season with a record of 2 wins, 5 losses, and an earned run average of 6.39 over 18 games. Since 2019, he has appeared in only 4 first-team games over the past 7 years, recording 3 losses.
