The Hanwha Eagles of professional baseball will hold a Hanwha Aerospace Sponsor Day event during their home game against the Doosan Bears on the 12th at Daejeon Hanwha Life Eagles Park.
Hanwha Aerospace, the sponsor of the Hanwha Eagles, will distribute over 20,000 "Taegeukgi badges" to all attendees as part of a patriotic campaign in collaboration with the government.
The "Taegeukgi badges" distributed that day were made using iron that was utilized in the creation of the "K9 self-propelled howitzer." The badge symbolizes self-defense and "K-defense" as "iron of freedom" to protect the liberty of Korea and carries the message to remember the heroes of the Korean War who shed blood on the battlefield.
On that day, the three Hanwha defense companies (Hanwha Aerospace, Hanwha System, Hanwha Ocean) are conducting the "121723 campaign to find the Taegeukgi" together with the Ministry of National Defense's remains excavation team and the Ministry of National Defense. "121723" refers to the 121,723 soldiers who lost their lives in the Korean War but have yet to return to their families.
The "Taegeukgi badges" distributed on that day at Hanwha Life Eagles Park are part of the 121,723 pieces created with unique numbers engraved from 1 to 121723, with over 20,000 of them made to embody the wish to never forget the heroes of the patriotic defense and to find their remains.
