It's a great relief.

Professional baseball player Gu Bon-hyeok of the LG Twins collapsed after being hit on the hand by a pitch. After being substituted, he underwent a medical examination at the hospital, and fortunately, there were no issues with his bones.

LG is in a state of emergency. Gu Bon-hyeok, who demonstrated top-level defensive skills not only as a shortstop but also as a second and third baseman, was substituted after being hit on his left hand by a pitch. Gu Bon-hyeok is scheduled to receive an examination at the hospital.

Gu Bon-hyeok started as the 6th shortstop in the game against the SSG Landers at the Jamsil Stadium in Seoul on the 12th.

In the bottom of the 2nd inning, Gu Bon-hyeok, who came to bat as the lead-off hitter, collapsed after being hit on his left hand by a pitch from SSG's starting pitcher Jeon Yeong-jun, clocked at 141 km/h. Gu Bon-hyeok fell down at the plate, clutching his left hand and expressing pain.

Trainers and coaching staff came out to check on Gu Bon-hyeok's condition. Gu Bon-hyeok was unable to stand up easily. An ambulance waiting in the outfield drove up in front of the LG dugout. Spectators were alarmed, worrying about a serious injury.

Afterward, Gu Bon-hyeok stood up and walked into the dugout without taking the ambulance. LG decided not to field Gu Bon-hyeok any longer, substituting him with Song Chan-ui as a pinch runner at first base.

Gu Bon-hyeok was then transported to the hospital. An LG club official noted, "He is scheduled to receive a medical examination for a bruise on his left hand."

About an hour later, the examination results came out. An LG club official reported, “The X-ray results show no issues with the bones.”
