KBO and CGV together established the 'Monthly CGV Scene-Stealer Award,' with Hanwha Eagles foreign pitcher Cody Ponce selected as the recipient for May.

KBO explained on the 12th, "The May CGV Scene-Stealer Award had a total of four players nominated for creating glorious moments and dynamic scenes through record-breaking achievements.” It included SSG Landers' Choi Jeong (500 home runs), KIA Tigers' Yang Hyun-jong (2,100 strikeouts), and Hanwha's Ponce (new record for most strikeouts in a game - 9 innings, 18 strikeouts), along with NC Dinos' Kim Hwi-jip, who scored with a clever slide at home plate. The 'May CGV Scene-Stealer Award' was conducted entirely through fan votes, running from June 1 to 4. Out of a total of 6,569 votes, Hanwha's Ponce garnered 2,869 votes (43.7%), surpassing SSG's Choi Jeong (2,037 votes - 31%), KIA's Yang Hyun-jong (1,286 votes - 19.6%), and NC's Kim Hwi-jip (377 votes - 5.7%), thus celebrating his victory.

KBO and CGV held an awards ceremony before the game on the 11th at Daejeon Hanwha Life Eagles Park, where Kim Jin-ho, Head of Team of CGV ICECON Business Team, presented the award along with a prize of 1 million won and a CGV Cine de Chef movie & dining package to the awardee Ponce.

The 'Monthly CGV Scene-Stealer Award' is given to an individual who creates cinematic moments during the KBO League, and all personnel working in the baseball field, including players, league officials, and cheerleading teams, are eligible for the award.
