Kim Ha-sung (Tampa Bay Rays infielder), who is adjusting his game sense in Triple-A of the minor leagues with the goal of returning to Major League Baseball, has extended his on-base streak to five games.

Playing for the Tampa Bay Rays' Triple-A Durham Bulls, Kim Ha-sung made his start as the second baseman on the 12th (Korean time) in a game against the Charlotte Knights, a farm team of the Chicago White Sox, at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park in Durham, North Carolina.

In his first at-bat of the game, Kim Ha-sung adjusted his hitting sense with a right-field single. He was struck out swinging in the third inning with two outs. In his third at-bat in the sixth inning, he drew a walk after a full count. Following that, he achieved a run after a hit by the next batter and consecutive walks.

In the seventh inning, Kim Ha-sung completed a game with three times on base by choosing a walk with one out and a runner on third base, and recorded his second run after a home run by the next batter. He was substituted for a defensive replacement in the top of the eighth inning.

On the day, Kim Ha-sung went 2 for 2 with one hit, two walks, and two runs, raising his season batting average from .194 to .211. Durham defeated Charlotte 5-1.

Meanwhile, after making his big league debut in 2021 and playing for the San Diego Padres until last year, Kim Ha-sung signed a free agent contract with the Tampa Bay Rays in February for up to $29 million over two years.

Having undergone surgery on his right shoulder in October of last year, Kim Ha-sung is adjusting his game sense while playing in Triple-A after going through the rehabilitation process.
