The 16th Seoul Samsung Little Thunders basketball tournament has concluded successfully.
This tournament featured a total of 54 teams across seven types from about 30 Samsung Little Thunders locations nationwide (8 teams each for U-9, U-10, U-11, and U-15, 10 teams for U-12, and 6 teams each for U-14 and U-18), with over 700 players participating, showcasing intense enthusiasm.
During the first week of the tournament on May 31 and June 1, the competitions for U-9, U-10, U-11, and U-12 institutional sectors were held. After fierce competitions, Bundang Samsung emerged victorious in the U-9, U-10, and U-12 sectors, while Asan Samsung claimed the title in the U-11 sector, with Hwado Samsung (U-9), Gangnam Samsung (U-10, U-12), and Bundang Samsung (U-11) finishing as runners-up.
On June 7 and 8, the competitions for U-15, U-14, and U-18 were held. Bundang Samsung won all three sectors, and Mokdong Samsung (U-15), Gangnam Samsung (U-14), and Guri-Namyangju Samsung (U-18) took each runner-up position.
After the tournament, trophies and certificates were awarded to the champion and runner-up teams, and caps from Reebok, the official sponsor of the Seoul Samsung Thunders basketball team, were given to the winning team. Additionally, MVPs from each sector received Reebok bags as prizes.
The awarded club teams will be selected for the Samsung Thunders youth representative team and are set to participate in the 2025 KBL youth tournament taking place in Yanggu.
Notably, the award ceremony featured Jeong Joon-hee, Lim Dong-eon, Park Seung-jae, and Hwang Young-chan from Seoul Samsung Thunders, who personally presented trophies and certificates to the Little Thunders players, encouraging them.
