Lee Kang-in (24) of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) was asked about his future ahead of the summer transfer market and replied, "I still don't know myself."

Lee received questions regarding transfer rumors in the mixed zone after the home match against Kuwait in the 10th game of Group B of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Asian third qualifying round held at Seoul World Cup Stadium on the 10th (Korea time).

He said, "I don’t know how it will turn out in the future," and added, "Even if I wanted to give you a hint, the season isn’t over yet and the transfer market hasn’t opened. I haven’t talked about it with the club, and I learned about it through articles."

He smiled and continued, "I don’t know where I will play next season."

Lee is reportedly receiving simultaneous interest from Napoli, the champion of Italy's Serie A, and Al-Nassr from the Saudi Professional League. In particular, Napoli has prioritized Lee as their key target to strengthen their creative midfield.

Italian media outlet "Spazio Napoli" reported on the 10th that "Napoli has reached a fundamental agreement with PSG regarding the acquisition of Lee Kang-in." Some media also reported that Napoli's interest has gone beyond simple interest and is effectively at the transfer agreement stage.

Initially, PSG demanded a transfer fee of 40 million euros (approximately 62.5 billion won), but it is reported that they accepted Napoli's offer of between 30 million euros (approximately 46.8 billion won) and 35 million euros (approximately 54.6 billion won).

Al-Nassr has shown intentions to enhance the league’s visibility by acquiring a star from Asia.

Lee gained attention when he made his debut in La Liga with Valencia and Mallorca. He had a career-high season in the 2022-2023 season, appearing in 39 games for Mallorca and recording 6 goals and 6 assists.

After transferring to PSG in the summer of 2023, he played various positions including attacking midfielder and false nine, alternating between the flanks and the center. In official competitions this season, he has appeared in 45 matches, contributing 6 goals and 6 assists.

PSG achieved a treble, lifting the trophies for Ligue 1, the Coupe de France, and the UEFA Champions League (UCL). However, Lee's role diminished somewhat in the competition for starting positions in the second half of the season. There are many evaluations suggesting that he needs a transfer to a team where he can play a central role.
