Hanwha Eagles catcher Heo In-seo hit three consecutive home runs in the Futures League.

Heo started as the seventh catcher in the game against the Doosan Bears held on Seosan ground on the 10th, recording 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 3 home runs, 5 RBIs, and 3 runs.

Heo came to bat in his first turn with one out and a runner on first base in the second inning, trailing 0-2. Doosan's starting pitcher Jo Jae-young's sixth pitch resulted in a wild pitch, advancing the runner to second base. He then struck out looking on a full count. Hanwha tied the game with a clutch hit from Choi Joon-seo with two outs and a runner on second, and took the lead 2-1 with a double from Bae Seung-su.

In the third inning, Hanwha seized a bases-loaded opportunity after Jang Gyu-hyeon hit a double, Kim In-hwan walked, and Jeong Min-kyu was hit by a pitch. A sacrifice fly by Kim Geon added one run. Heo hit a three-run home run over the center field fence on a 2-ball count against Jo Jae-young. The distance was 125 meters, extending the score to 6-1.

Heo came up to bat as the lead-off batter in the sixth inning and hit a consecutive home run over the left field fence on the first strike against pitcher Lee Joo-yeob. The distance was 125 meters.

Heo again came up to bat as the lead-off batter in the eighth inning, hitting a home run for the third consecutive at-bat on a full count against the new pitcher Kim Han-joong. This time, he cleared the right field fence. The distance was 110 meters. Hanwha won 9-1.

Heo was drafted by Hanwha as the 11th pick in the second round of the 2022 Rookie Draft. He was the highest-drafted catcher during the second draft. After finishing the 2022 season, he enlisted in the military, completing his service early and returning in July of the previous year.

In 2023, he recorded a batting average of .393 (46 hits in 117 at-bats), 4 home runs, 27 RBIs, and an OPS of 1.073 in 45 games with Sangmu. In the 2024 Futures League, he recorded a batting average of .271 (80 hits in 295 at-bats), 13 home runs, 59 RBIs, and an OPS of .813 over 93 games.

After returning to Hanwha in mid-July last year, he hit 10 home runs in 34 games. This season, he is maintaining a batting average of .263 (20 hits in 76 at-bats), 6 home runs, 18 RBIs, and an OPS of .818 in the Futures League over 26 games.

Heo has appeared in 2 games in the first team this season, recording 1 hit (a double) and 1 RBI in 1 at-bat. He was on the roster for the opening two-game series but did not play. He was called up to the first team at the end of April and made an appearance as a pinch hitter on April 30 in Daejeon's game against LG, contributing with a double in the eighth inning with two outs and a runner on second, putting Hanwha ahead 4-2.

Hanwha is utilizing starting catcher Choi Jae-hun and veteran catcher Lee Jae-won as backup. Young catcher prospects, including Heo In-seo and Jang Gyu-hyeon, still require more time to gain first team experience.
