Thomas Tuchel (52), who is leading the England national team, claimed that Liverpool and Arsenal could have an advantage in the English Premier League (EPL) title race for the 2025-2026 season.
According to Britain's 'Daily Mail' on the 10th (Korea time), Tuchel claimed that although Liverpool and Arsenal will not participate in the FIFA Club World Cup, which kicks off in the United States on the 15th, this will be advantageous in the upcoming Premier League title competition.
England is set to face Senegal in an A-match friendly on the 11th (Korea time) in Nottingham. Currently, there are nine players in the England national team squad called up by Tuchel who are participating in the Club World Cup from Chelsea and Manchester City.
During a press conference ahead of the friendly against Senegal, Tuchel was asked about concerns regarding the condition of key players like Jude Bellingham (22, Real Madrid), Harry Kane (32, Bayern Munich), and Cole Palmer (23, Chelsea) due to their participation in the Club World Cup.
In response, Tuchel stated, "The number of players is not very high. However, that tournament will have a significant impact, and the fact that Liverpool and Arsenal are not participating will grant us a considerable advantage next season."
He added, "This tournament will be a fantastic experience for players participating for the first time. So the emotions are complex. Therefore, I decided not to worry too much."
He also remarked, "Why should I worry? It’s a given situation, and no one knows what the outcome or impact will be," and noted, "If any impact occurs, we can respond then. Let’s just watch the situation."
Tuchel emphasized, "There are many teams participating in the UEFA Champions League next season, and there are also teams involved in other European competitions. Again, let’s just watch."
Tuchel has lifted trophies through various leagues including Augsburg, Mainz, Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), Chelsea, and Bayern Munich. However, he has no experience winning the Premier League.
Tuchel has stated that he will prioritize the national team's needs over the club's for the match against Senegal. The Club World Cup will kick off in Miami, United States, on the 15th; however, Kane, Bellingham, and Trent Alexander-Arnold (27, Real Madrid) are expected to participate in the match against Senegal.
