The Korea Baseball Organization's Kiwoom Heroes and NC Dinos played a grueling 12-inning game but could not decide a winner. Kiwoom and NC recorded a 2-2 draw in a match held at Gocheok Sky Dome on the 10th.
Right-handed pitcher Kim Yoon-ha started for Kiwoom, who set up their lineup with third baseman Song Seong-moon, left fielder Im Ji-yeol, center fielder Lee Joo-hyung, designated hitter Kim Dong-yeob, catcher Kim Keon-hee, right fielder Park Soo-jong, second baseman Song Ji-hoo, first baseman Yang Hyun-jong, and shortstop Oh Seon-jin.
NC configured their lineup with left fielder Kwon Hee-dong, shortstop Kim Joo-won, second baseman Park Min-woo, first baseman Matt Davidson, right fielder Park Geon-woo, designated hitter Son Ah-seop, center fielder Cheon Jae-hwan, catcher Kim Hyung-jun, and third baseman Kim Hwi-jip. Foreign pitcher Logan Allen took the mound as the starter.
In the first inning, NC had a chance with Kim Joo-won's hit by pitch and Davidson's walk, putting runners on first and second with two outs, but Park Geon-woo flied out to right field, failing to score first.
They say "a chance after a crisis, a crisis after a chance." Kiwoom scored first with a home run by Im Ji-yeol in the bottom of the first inning with one out and no runners on base. Im Ji-yeol targeted a fastball (143 km/h) from NC starter Logan on the sixth pitch of a 1B-2S count and launched it over the center field wall. The distance was 130 meters.
In the third inning, with two outs, Park Min-woo reached first base on an infield single. After a stolen base to second base and an opponent's error, NC had a chance with two outs and a runner on third, but failed to score. In the fourth inning, with two outs, Cheon Jae-hwan's hit and stolen base sent a runner into scoring position, but they could not score. In the fifth inning, lead-off hitter Kim Hwi-jip hit a double that cleared the left fielder's head. Soon after, Kwon Hee-dong walked. With no outs and runners on first and second, they did not convert this opportunity.
Kiwoom, leading 1-0, created a first and third situation with consecutive hits from Song Seong-moon and Im Ji-yeol after one out in the fifth inning. Lee Joo-hyung's ground ball to second base added another run.
NC, lamenting their inability to maintain concentration in scoring situations, seized a chance with a walk from Kwon Hee-dong and a double that cleared the right fielder's head by Park Min-woo with one out, placing runners on second and third while trailing 0-2 in the seventh. Davidson hit a single to center field, bringing all runners home. The score was tied at 2-2. Kiwoom and NC battled through 12 innings but were unable to determine a winner.
Kiwoom starter Kim Yoon-ha, known as the nephew of 'Korean Express' Park Chan-ho, left the mound after five scoreless innings (five hits, three walks, five strikeouts) while achieving the requirements for his first win of the season after nine losses. However, the bullpen allowed the game to be tied, leading to disappointment.
Logan, who started for NC, showcased a strong performance with six innings and two earned runs (eight hits, one home run, one walk, three strikeouts) but did not add to his win total.
