The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) announced the results of the first intermediate count for the 2025 KBO All-Star Game 'Best 12' fan voting on the 9th. Hanwha's Kim Seo-hyeon ranked first in the voting for the institutional sector of relief pitchers. In the Dream All-Stars, Samsung and Lotte are in fierce competition.

As of 5 p.m. on the 8th, Kim Seo-hyeon received 694,511 votes, the highest among all candidates in the first intermediate count. Out of a total of 1,372,012 votes, he achieved a voting rate of approximately 50.6%. Having made his debut, Kim Seo-hyeon is expected to make his first appearance in the All-Star Game as a Best 12 candidate.

The second most votes in the first intermediate count went to Yoon Dong-hee, who received 658,984 votes in the Dream All-Star outfield sector. Yoon Dong-hee was selected as a Best 12 in the previous year and aims for his second All-Star appearance following last season.

In the Dream All-Stars, Samsung and Lotte are showing strong performances. Samsung has the most players selected in the Dream All-Stars with six members: Won Tae-in in the starting pitcher institutional sector, Kang Min-ho in the catcher institutional sector, Diaz in the first baseman institutional sector, Ryu Ji-hyeok in the second baseman institutional sector, and outfielders Gu Ja-wook (second in outfield) and Kim Ji-chan (third in outfield).

Lotte has five players ranked first in the following institutional sectors: Jeong Cheol-won in the middle pitcher sector, Kim Won-jung in the relief pitcher sector, Jeon Min-jae in the shortstop sector, Yoon Dong-hee (first in outfield), and Jeon Jun-woo in the designated hitter sector. Besides Samsung and Lotte, SSG's Choi Jeong leads the third baseman sector with 505,031 votes. Both Doosan and KT have no players ranked first.

In the Dream All-Stars, the second-ranked starting pitcher is Lotte's Park Se-woong, the second-ranked middle pitcher is Samsung's Bae Chan-seung, the second-ranked relief pitcher is Samsung's Lee Ho-sung, the second-ranked catcher is Lotte's Yoo Kang-nam, the second-ranked first baseman is Lotte's Na Seung-yeop, the second-ranked second baseman is Lotte's Go Seung-min, the second-ranked shortstop is Samsung's Lee Jae-hyun, and the second-ranked designated hitter is Samsung's Park Byeong-ho. The fourth-ranked outfielder is Lotte's Reyes.

In particular, the competition among middle pitchers is fierce, with Jeong Cheol-won (491,782 votes) and Bae Chan-seung (471,903 votes) having only a margin of 19,879 votes. The competition is also expected to be tight between Kim Ji-chan (third in outfield, 477,638 votes) and Reyes (fourth in outfield, 447,592 votes), with a difference of 30,000 votes.

In the Hanwha All-Stars, Hanwha is leading in the most positions. In the starting pitcher sector, Ponce, in the middle pitcher sector, Park Sang-won, and in the relief pitcher sector, Kim Seo-hyeon are maintaining their leads across all pitching sectors. Additionally, in the outfield sector, Floriel (first in outfield) and in the designated hitter sector, Moon Hyun-bin are also at the top of their respective positions.

LG follows with three players: Park Dong-won in the catcher sector, Austin in the first baseman sector, and Park Hae-min (third in outfield) for a total of three players. KIA and NC each have two players; KIA's players are Kim Do-young in the third baseman sector and Park Chan-ho in the shortstop sector, while NC's players are Park Min-woo in the second baseman sector and Park Geon-woo (second in outfield) currently leading in the intermediate count by position. Kiwoom has none.

The most competitive position is the second baseman sector of the Hanwha All-Stars. NC's Park Min-woo is leading with 459,098 votes, while Hanwha's Hwang Young-mook has received 448,078 votes, with a margin of 18,220 votes separating them.

As the first half of the season is underway, the heat of the 2025 KBO League, which has surpassed 5.5 million spectators, has been reflected in the All-Star fan voting. The first intermediate count result showed a total of 1,372,012 votes, an increase of about 7% compared to 1,282,813 votes in the first intermediate count of the 2024 All-Star Game.

Meanwhile, the KBO is conducting a prize giveaway event for baseball fans participating in the fan voting. Through the KBO website or the KBO official app, eight fans who voted daily will be selected to receive prizes including LG Stand By Me 2, Dyson Hot & Cool Jet Focus, AirPods 4 Active Noise, and Starbucks gift certificates (50,000 won each for five people).

The fan voting to select the Best 12 players for the 2025 KBO All-Star Game will be conducted until 2 p.m. on June 22 (Sunday), and the results of the second intermediate count will be announced on the 16th (Monday). The final Best 12 list, which combines the results of the fan voting (70%) and player voting (30%), will be announced on the 23rd (Monday).
