A breadwinner who does anything for family takes on another challenge for them.
Oka (38, Jeon Wook-jin Multi Gym), who is a 'former member of the Mongolian boxing national team', will compete at the upcoming Gubne ROAD FC 073 on June 28 at the Jangchung Gymnasium in Seoul. He will face 'favorite to win' Kamil Magomedov (33, KHK MMA TEAM) for a prize of 100 million won and the champion belt in the ROAD FC Global Tournament lightweight final.
This match is important for Oka. It is an opportunity to obtain the ROAD FC champion belt he has long dreamed of, and he must earn the 100 million won prize for his family. He is particularly determined to fight again against the opponent who eliminated him in the semifinals.
The reason Oka came to Korea is because of his then-girlfriend, now wife. After hearing that his wife, who was studying abroad in Korea, was being stalked, Oka immediately boarded a plane. While doing well as a national boxing representative in Mongolia, Oka had no choice but to stay in Korea to protect his wife.
As his stay in Korea lengthened, he also had to give up his position as a national representative in Mongolia. For the sake of the one he loves, Oka set aside everything he had achieved thus far and started over in Korea. Since there was a language barrier, the only job he could do immediately was day labor. Oka earned money working at construction sites and moving companies while supporting his livelihood with fight money from participating in ROAD FC matches.
Oka decided to settle in Korea, got married, and had two children. Now, the whole family has obtained Korean nationality. Oka also has a Korean name, 'Kim In-seong', which was given to him by a colleague who said Oka had a good character.
Oka said, "I don't regret coming to Korea. I am happy because I have my beloved wife and children."
Oka has steadily participated in the tournaments held by ROAD FC. Since significant prize money is at stake, he had to win for his family. However, he has not had luck with winning. During the one million dollar tournament, he was eliminated in the quarterfinals by Mansur Barnawi, and in the 2023 lightweight tournament, he lost the final match to Artur Soloviev. In 2024, he was defeated by Kamil Magomedov in the semifinals, preventing him from advancing to the finals.
Having swallowed his disappointment three times, Oka has openly stated that he will continue to challenge until he becomes the ROAD FC champion. Was it perhaps that the heavens were moved by his efforts? Soloviev, who was supposed to be Kamil's opponent in the final, refused to participate in the match, demanding a higher fight purse than was in his contract, thus creating an opportunity for Oka. He was expected to face 'the youngest lightweight champion' Park Si-won for a place in the final, but he advanced due to the opponent's injury. It truly was a stroke of luck.
Oka now has the opportunity to win 100 million won with his fourth challenge. Having missed opportunities in the past, his motivation is solid, and because he has faced the opponent once before, he has a sense of how to approach the match. Additionally, ROAD FC Chairman Jeong Mun-hong has pledged to help set up a gym for Oka if he wins.
Oka conveyed his determination regarding the final match on June 28, saying, "Last time I couldn't show my striking. I wasn't daring enough. This time, I won't overly guard against my opponent's wrestling and will just strike. I will definitely bring home the ROAD FC champion belt."
