Kim Ki-tae, the coach of the Yeongam Folk Wrestling Team, along with coach Yoon Jeong-soo, Baekdu champion Kim Min-jae, Hallachampion Cha Min-soo, and Geumgang champion Choi Jeong-man, departed for training in Mongolia via Daegu Airport.
They are expected to train with local Buch competitors at the prestigious "Hirchin Sports Club" in Mongolia, which extended the invitation.
This training is part of the special program "Young-min and His Great Friends," produced to mark the 30th anniversary of KBC Gwangju Broadcasting.
Developed during the era of Genghis Khan as a military training method and a means to verify strength and excellence, Buch is a symbolic sport deeply connected to Mongolia's history, culture, and spirit, going beyond mere sport.
"Hirchin Sports Club" is a comprehensive sports club under the Mongolian Border Defense Force that not only trains national-level athletes in Buch but also in various sports such as judo, archery, wrestling, boxing, volleyball, and weightlifting, playing an important role in the development of Mongolian sports.
The Yeongam Folk Wrestling Team aims to learn from the strength of Mongolians through this training and broadcast program, and to lead efforts in globalizing our wrestling.
