The Korea Professional Football League held its first 'K League Academy' data analysis course for 2025 from the 4th for two days at Seoul Square.

The data analysis course was established to recognize the importance of data necessary for K League power analysis and player evaluation and to increase the utilization of data. This training program invited officials from the J League and a former Asia scout from Manchester United, receiving much interest and anticipation, and approximately 70 participants, including league officials, club player support and power enhancement department personnel, and scouts, attended.

On the first day of training, the first session featured Ryotaro Hiyama, responsible at TransferRoom, an analysis company for the transfer market, who conducted a lecture on 'global trends in the transfer market.' In the following second session, Mizuki Moriwaki, the technical director of Kawasaki Frontale, explained the player transfer strategies of the J League clubs, focusing on the player transfer-related matters of the Kawasaki club.

In the third session, Yoshitaka Muneshige, the technical director of Oita Trinita, introduced 'the definition and implementation methods of club vision.' The last session of the first day wrapped up with a discussion of current issues between the league's club support team and club player support team.

On the first session of the second day of training, Professor Ko Sang-ki from the University of Seoul served as an instructor, presenting on 'football through data, practical use of event and tracking data.' The course concluded with the second session led by Kei Tamura, the former Asia chief scout of Manchester United, who explained 'the purpose and process of scouting.'

Since 2013, the league has been continuously implementing the 'K League Academy' initiative, which provides tailored training programs for K League members, including the data analysis course.
