Professional baseball team Kiwoom Heroes acquired Stone Garrett as an injury replacement player. On the 7th, he greeted his new teammates at Gocheok Sky Dome and trained with them.

Stone participated in live batting and other training at the Goyang Heroes' home ground in Goyang before coming to the Gocheok Dome for batting practice.

Coach Hong Won-ki observed Stone's training at Gocheok Dome on the 7th and said, "It’s hard to evaluate just from seeing the batting training. He participated in live batting in the morning in Goyang, and now has come to meet with the players and train normally. His physical condition seems okay. I don’t think it’s appropriate to comment technically at this point."

Stone will conduct live batting training in Goyang on the 8th, and is scheduled to depart for Japan early next week to resolve visa issues before returning. Coach Hong said, "If his condition is fine, we are considering having him play from the series next weekend."

After finishing training, Stone said in an interview with reporters, "I’m really happy to be in Korea, and I think I had a bit of fun as soon as I arrived."

Stone has a friendship with Austin Dean, Matt Davidson, and Ryan Weiss, and noted that he has heard a lot of good things about the KBO League from them. Stone said with a laugh, "I’ve known Austin for quite a while, and it will be nice to meet him today. We’re friends, but right now we are opponents."

Although six weeks is a short time, I was full of confidence. Stone said, "I want to show fans my competitive spirit on the field. I will always run hard to first base, whether it’s for six weeks or two weeks, the duration doesn’t matter," and added, "My biggest strength is my ability to hit for power. I also have speed and a strong arm, so it seems like I have many advantages."

He was well aware of Kim Ha-sung, a former player from Kiwoom. Stone was drafted in the 8th round of the 2014 MLB Draft by the Miami Marlins. He made his big league debut in the 2022 season with the Arizona Diamondbacks. In the 2023 season, he transferred to the Washington Nationals, and after playing in Triple-A this year, he received an offer from Kiwoom while preparing to enter the Mexican League and chose to come to Korea.

Stone noted, "When I was playing in Arizona, I played many games against San Diego in the same league. I think I was often inspired by watching player Kim Ha-sung. His style of play was quite interesting."
