The bottom-ranked Kiwoom Heroes defeated the first-place LG Twins, marking their fourth consecutive win.
Kiwoom triumphed 4-1 against LG on July 7 at Seoul's Gocheok Sky Dome in the 2025 KBO League. Starting pitcher Alcantara became the winning pitcher after throwing 101 pitches over 8 innings, allowing 3 hits, striking out 6, and giving up 1 run. Joo Seung-woo recorded a save after appearing in the 9th inning.
Song Seong-mun, who hit a walk-off home run the previous day, contributed with 2 hits and 2 RBIs in 4 at-bats. Kim Jae-hyun recorded 2 hits and 2 runs in 2 at-bats.
LG's starting lineup included Shin Min-jae (2nd baseman), Kim Hyun-soo (left fielder), Austin (1st baseman), Moon Bo-gyeong (designated hitter), Park Dong-won (catcher), Moon Sung-ju (right fielder), Gu Bon-hyeok (shortstop), Son Yong-jun (3rd baseman), and Park Hae-min (center fielder). Shortstop Oh Ji-hwan was excluded from the starting lineup due to a slump.

When the catcher threw to 2nd, the runner on 3rd scored successfully. The runner on 1st halted after running to 2nd and got tagged out after the run, using the runner on 1st as bait to score the first run.

In the 5th inning, Kiwoom took the lead. With one out, Kim Jae-hyun reached base with a single to left. Oh Jun-seo hit a deep double to the right field line, and the runner on 1st scored after rounding 3rd. It was a 2-1 lead.
Song Ji-hu's solid hit was caught by a great defensive play. Left fielder Kim Hyun-soo ran toward the fence and made a jumping catch just in time. With two outs and a runner on 2nd, Song Seong-mun hit a clutch hit to right to extend the lead to 3-1.
LG replaced starting pitcher Lim Chan-kyu with Jang Hyun-sik as the second pitcher in the 6th inning. Jang Hyun-sik, who returned to the first team after recovering from a latissimus dorsi injury, ended the inning in order. He recorded an out against Lee Joo-hyung on a groundout to 2nd, an out against Lim Ji-yeol on a flyout to right, and struck out Won Seong-jun.
