On the afternoon of the 7th, a game between the 2025 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League Kiwoom Heroes and LG Twins was held at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul.
Prior to the game, the substitute foreign player for Kiwoom, Stone Garrett, joined the team.
After finishing the team introductions, Stone practiced defense in the outfield.
Stone, with an impressive muscular physique, made a strong impression by quickly tracking down difficult batted balls and making catches.
Garrett, who was selected in the eighth round of the 2014 Major League Baseball Draft by the Miami Marlins, made his Major League debut in the 2022 season with the Arizona Diamondbacks. After transferring to the Washington Nationals in the 2023 season, he recorded 63 hits, 9 home runs, and 40 RBIs in 89 games. While preparing to enter the Mexican League recently, he chose to head to Korea after receiving an offer from Kiwoom.
At 188 cm and 91 kg, Garrett is a player with powerful hitting and speed. He has recorded 14 home runs and an OPS of 0.833 over 118 games in the Major Leagues, and successfully stole 17 bases in the 2021 minor league season, showcasing impressive base-running ability.
The team said, "Garrett is a right-handed power hitter needed by the team and can play defense in all outfield positions," and added, "We hope he brings new energy to the team with his refreshing long hits."
Stone is scheduled to train with the Goyang team on the 8th and then obtain his visa in Japan next week before rejoining the first team.
