Chelsea fans exploded at the evaluation of Manchester United (Man U) legend Paul Scholes (51) regarding Moises Caicedo (24, Chelsea).

According to Britain's 'The Sun' on the 4th (Korea time), Scholes recently appeared on the YouTube channel 'The Overlap Fan Debate' and evaluated Caicedo.

Scholes noted, "Many people talk about Caicedo. They say, 'He has played 38 matches,' but I'm not sure if he has had a significant impact in actual games," and added, "Did he create a lot? Did he dominate the game? I don't remember."

He stated that "midfielders these days may spend an entire season with little actual contribution," giving a negative evaluation of Caicedo.

Caicedo, who joined Chelsea from Brighton last summer, started in all 38 matches of the Premier League for the 2024-2025 season. He recorded the most passes among league midfielders and was active with the fifth most tackles.

Amid such performances, Caicedo was named 'Player of the Year' by Chelsea fans. Not stopping there, he was also selected as 'Player's Player' by his teammates. Despite these achievements, Scholes did not retract his skeptical view of Caicedo.

'The Sun' reported that a fan expressed anger on social media (SNS), stating, "This is by far the worst evaluation I've ever seen. It's clear he hasn't watched the game at all." Another fan also pointed out, "I respect Scholes' career, but it's clear he isn't watching football properly these days."

In particular, one fan referenced Scholes' record of being dismissed just 31 days into his tenure as a manager at Oldham, saying, "This is why no team in the lower leagues will hire him as a manager." However, some fans defended him, saying, "In context, some of his remarks have merit."

Conversely, Scholes defended Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund (22). He stated, "He has been overworked alone as a striker. He should be given opportunities and grow alongside competitors."

Scholes also advised, "They need to bring in Victor Osimhen and Viktor Gyökeres, and Hojlund should be included in that group," adding, "Young strikers should sometimes be made to sit on the bench to regain their confidence by watching the game."
