Trevor Bauer, a winner of the Cy Young Award and a member of the Yokohama DeNA BASS, has won a legal victory against a woman who previously accused him of sexual assault.

According to a report by Japanese sports media 'Full Count' on the 4th (Korea time), the Los Angeles Superior Court ruled on the 3rd that the woman violated the terms of the settlement in relation to Bauer's civil lawsuit, ordering her to pay $300,000 (about 430 million won) in damages. This ruling follows a dispute between both parties that began in 2023 after the woman publicly claimed, 'I received money from Bauer,' sparking controversy.

The woman accused Bauer of sexual assault in 2021, resulting in the Major League Baseball (MLB) imposing a suspension of 324 games on him. The suspension was later reduced to 194 games, and Bauer filed a countersuit for defamation. The woman also filed a countersuit for sexual assault and sexual abuse, leading to intense legal battles.

Eventually, in 2023, both parties reached a settlement to conclude the legal dispute without further financial transactions. However, subsequently, the woman stated through podcasts and social media that 'Bauer gave her the insurance money she was supposed to receive,' and Bauer's side claimed that this statement violated the settlement terms, filing another lawsuit seeking over $300,000, including $10,000 per violation for 22 violations and legal expenses.

The court favored Bauer in this trial, considering the woman's failure to respond to the summons, among other factors.

Bauer's legal representative, Rachel Luba, emphasized through social media, 'Bauer has never been arrested and has not paid any money to the complainant,' adding that 'this ruling once again proves Bauer's innocence.'

Bauer, who made his big league debut with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2012, achieved his first double-digit victories (11 wins, 12 losses) while with the Cleveland Indians in 2015 and set personal records of 12 wins, 8 losses in 2016 and 17 wins, 9 losses in 2017. He successfully hunted for 10 wins for five consecutive years with records of 12 wins, 6 losses in 2018 and 11 wins, 13 losses in 2019.

In 2020, he recorded 5 wins and 4 losses with a 1.73 earned run average over 11 games (73 innings) and won the National League Cy Young Award. However, due to the sexual assault controversy, he has not appeared in Major League games since June 29, 2021.
