The Gimcheon Sangmu Professional Football Club missed a victory that was within its grasp. Pohang Steelers defeated Gangwon FC 2-1.

On the 1st at 7 p.m., Gimcheon Sangmu drew 1-1 against Suwon FC in a home match of the Hana Bank K League 1 2025 round 17 held at Gimcheon Sports Complex. They took the lead with a goal from Park Sang-hyuk, but allowed an equalizer to Jung Seung-bae in the dying moments of the second half.

Gimcheon recorded 25 points (5th place) and Suwon recorded 16 points (11th place), continuing a streak of four and three consecutive winless matches, respectively.

In the first half, Gimcheon created more chances. Lee Dong-jun, Kim Seung-seop, and Yoo Kang-hyun attempted shots in succession, but the finishing was disappointing. Suwon also attempted a counterattack centered around Ruan, but effective shots were rare.

The deadlock was broken in the 31st minute of the second half. Park Sang-hyuk connected Lee Dong-gyeong's free kick with a non-stop shot in front of the goal, giving Gimcheon the first goal. However, in the 43rd minute of the second half, substitute Jung Seung-bae equalized by finishing a cross from Anderson.

At the same time, Pohang Steelers won 2-1 in a home match against Gangwon FC at Steel Yard. As a result, Pohang maintained 4th place with 28 points, closely chasing 3rd place Ulsan (29 points).

Gangwon took the lead first. In the 11th minute of the first half, Gabriel's shot hit Jorge and deflected into an own goal. Pohang equalized with a header from Jorge off a cross from Kim In-seong in added time of the first half.

In the second half, Pohang brought in Lee Ho-jae, taking a gamble, and in the 24th minute, Lee In-seong's cross was headed in by Lee Ho-jae for the winning goal. Gangwon sought another equalizer but was thwarted by Pohang's physical defense.
