Nineteen-year-old Désiré Doue of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) led the team to the 'top of Europe' with a multi-goal performance. A pleasant record also followed for him.

On Dec. 1 (Korea time), PSG faced Inter Milan in the single match final of the 2024-2025 season UEFA Champions League (UCL) at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany, and won decisively 5-0. They won the big-eared trophy (UCL trophy) for the first time in 55 years since their founding in 1970.

This season, PSG has clinched the domestic treble, winning Ligue 1, the Trophée des Champions, and the Coupe de France. They also dominated in Europe, completing the quadruple.

On that day, PSG deployed a 4-3-3 formation. Doue, Ousmane Dembélé, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia occupied the forward positions. The second line consisted of Rúben Neves, Vitinha, and Fabian Ruiz. The defense line was composed of Achraf Hakimi, Marquinhos, Lucas Paquetá, and Nuno Mendes. The goalkeeper was Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Lee Kang-in, who was named on the bench, ultimately did not step onto the field.

Edoard played a pivotal role with 2 goals and 1 assist. Hakimi, Kvaratskhelia, and Maylu also scored.

Dembélé registered 2 assists, while Vitinha and Barcola each had 1 assist, contributing to the team's victory.

At 19 years and 362 days, Doue surpassed Eusébio, who scored against Real Madrid at the age of 20 years and 97 days in 1962, becoming the youngest player to score more than two goals in an UCL final.

The 'legend' Lionel Messi (Inter Miami) scored in the UCL final at the age of 21 years, 11 months, and 3 days, but Doue recorded a goal at an even younger age.

Additionally, Doue was recorded as the youngest French player to start in an UCL final.

UEFA named Doue the Player of the Match (POTM) for the day.

He expressed, 'I can't put it into words. It's really unbelievable and amazing.'
