The SSG Landers completed a winning series by marking their first game of June with a victory.

SSG secured a narrow 4-3 win against the Lotte Giants in the regular season of the 2025 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League at Sajik Stadium in Busan on the 1st. This victory marks SSG's second consecutive winning series as they kicked off June with a fresh start, recording 29 wins, 26 losses, and 2 ties. Conversely, Lotte has been unable to win a series for two weeks, remaining at 31 wins, 25 losses, and 3 ties.

SSG arranged the starting lineup with Choi Ji-hoon (center fielder), Choi Jun-woo (left fielder), Choi Jeong (designated hitter), Han Yoo-seom (right fielder), Ko Myeong-jun (first baseman), Park Seong-han (shortstop), Lee Ji-young (catcher), Jeong Jun-jae (second baseman), and Kim Chan-hyung (third baseman). Lotte arranged the starting lineup with Jeon Min-jae (shortstop), Go Seung-min (second baseman), Reyes (left fielder), Jeon Jun-woo (designated hitter), Yoon Dong-hee (right fielder), Na Seung-yeop (first baseman), Son Ho-young (third baseman), Yoo Kang-nam (catcher), and Jang Du-seong (center fielder). The starting pitcher is Lee Min-seok.

A match between the ace and the fifth starter took place. However, it was close. SSG took the first opportunity. In the second inning, Park Sang-hun hit a right field single, followed by a lucky blooper from Lee Ji-young that fell in center field, and Jeong Jun-jae's left field single, creating a bases-loaded situation with no outs.

However, Kim Chan-hyung hit a fly ball to right field for the first out, and the runner on third did not tag up. With one out and the bases loaded, Choi Ji-hoon struck out swinging for the second out, and Choi Jun-woo followed with a called strikeout, failing to capitalize on the bases-loaded opportunity.

Lotte, having escaped from their crisis, seized an opportunity. In the bottom of the second, lead-off hitter Jeon Jun-woo reached base with an infield hit to the shortstop. Then, Yoon Dong-hee's shot went off the third base and bounced irregularly for a double, creating a situation with no outs and runners on second and third. However, Na Seung-yeop hit a shallow fly ball to center field, failing to move the runner on third, and Son Ho-young also grounded out to second base. Ultimately, it became two outs with runners in scoring position, and Yoo Kang-nam grounded out to the shortstop, also missing the chance.

Lotte's starter Lee Min-seok regained his composure after overcoming a bases-loaded situation, finishing with 5 innings, 4 hits allowed, 1 walk, 2 strikeouts, and no earned runs. In contrast, Lotte found success against Anderson. In the fourth inning, with two outs and no runners on base, Yoon Dong-hee came up and connected with a 155 km fastball on the third pitch, hitting a solo home run to left field for his fourth of the season, putting them ahead 1-0.

SSG missed an opportunity in the sixth inning after two outs, created by a walk and an error by the opposing team. However, they took advantage of an opportunity in the seventh. They targeted Lotte’s strong bullpen. Lead-off hitter Jeong Jun-jae reached base with an infield hit in front of the pitcher. Then, Kim Chan-hyung was hit by a pitch, creating a no outs situation with runners on first and second. Choi Ji-hoon hit a fly ball to center field, creating an opportunity with one out and runners on first and third. Choi Jeong then hit a two-run double to left, successfully making a comeback with a 2-1 lead. With two outs and a runner on second, Han Yoo-seom hit a timely single to center, extending the lead to 3-1. Despite pouring several pitchers like Kim Sang-su, Jeong Cheol-won, and Kim Jin-wook into the game, Lotte could not hold the lead.

However, Lotte met their challenge in the bottom of the seventh. SSG's starter Anderson remained on the mound, having thrown 89 pitches by the sixth inning. Despite Anderson's four days of rest, manager Lee Seung-yong chose to stick with him for the seventh inning. However, he allowed consecutive walks to Yoon Dong-hee and Na Seung-yeop. With 101 pitches thrown and a no outs situation with runners on first and second, he was replaced by Noh Kyung-eun.

With a no outs situation on first and second, Lotte's Son Ho-young hit a single to left field, creating a bases-loaded opportunity. Then, Son Seong-bin hit a slow grounder to third base, bringing in the runner from third to make it 2-3 in their favor. In the continued situation of one out and runners on second and third, Jang Du-seong hit a sacrifice fly to center field, evening the score at 3-3.

However, Lotte missed a golden opportunity in the bottom of the eighth. Lead-off hitter Go Seung-min hit a double to right-center, followed by Reyes's automatic intentional walk, and Jeon Jun-woo's sacrifice bunt created a situation with one out and runners on second and third. SSG once again intentionally walked Yoon Dong-hee, setting up a bases-loaded scenario that backfired. Na Seung-yeop hit a weak grounder back to the pitcher, leading to a double play without scoring any runs, missing their chance for a comeback with one out and the bases loaded.

Ultimately, Lotte paid a price in the ninth inning. In the top of the ninth, with one out, Choi Ji-hoon hit a triple to right-center, creating a one out and third base situation. Choi Jun-woo struck out swinging. However, with two outs and Choi Jeong at bat, a wild pitch occurred during a favorable count of one ball and two strikes. That score turned out to be the winning run.
