"I hope the coach finds it comfortable."
FC Seoul suffered a 1-3 defeat against Jeju United in the Hana Bank K League 1 2025 Round 17 match held at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on the 31st. With this loss, Seoul’s recent unbeaten streak of three matches (1-0 win against Daegu, 1-1 draw against Suwon FC, and 1-0 win against Gimcheon) was broken, leaving them with 22 points (5 wins, 7 draws, and 5 losses). In contrast, Jeju pushed forward, accumulating 19 points (5 wins, 4 draws, and 8 losses).
From Seoul's perspective, all the latent issues surfaced in this match. Struggling with the worst scoring drought of the season, Seoul experienced difficulties in scoring even during their recent three-match unbeaten streak. They faced a complete defeat against Jeju, which had been struggling with poor performance (21 goals conceded in 16 matches), despite showcasing a disappointing offensive ability.
The flow of the game saw Seoul take the lead while Jeju countered. Seoul, utilizing a two-forward setup, pushed forward, and Jeju countered with Nam Tae-hee playing a free role and moving widely. Both teams seemed to struggle to create meaningful scoring opportunities, possibly due to their recent somewhat stagnant offensive capabilities.
Seoul fell behind 0-3 after conceding the opening goal in the 23rd minute to Yoon In-soo, followed by an additional goal from Lee Chang-min in the 50th minute and another goal from Yoon In-soo in the 67th minute. Although Yazaan scored a consolation goal in the 70th minute, Seoul faced another defeat at home, finishing the match 1-3.
Yoon In-soo, who scored multiple goals and led the victory, said, "I’m happy to earn 3 points in a tough away match against Seoul. Although the atmosphere was not good, it was a match where we could find confidence."
Yoon In-soo mentioned, "(Nam) Tae-hee is an older brother with whom I've played since childhood, and I learn a lot from playing together. Coincidentally, we're entering a break, so we are excited." He added, "(Coach Kim Hak-beom) must have had a tough time, and seeing him motivated us. We had meetings to unite the team and tried to stick together. I think the coach may finally be able to sleep comfortably now."
Regarding his multi-goal performance, Yoon In-soo said, "For the first goal, I took the goalkeeper's tempo and was able to strike well. For the second goal, I thought Yazaan would clear it first, but he didn’t, allowing me to finish comfortably." He smiled, saying, "In Jeju, I play a more aggressive role compared to other teams, which seems to help me improve my scoring ability."
Yoon In-soo concluded the interview by stating, "To be honest, I thought about scoring a hat trick after getting two goals, but considering the team's need for defense rather than an aggressive attack, I tried to focus on keeping the defense. So, I aimed to contribute to the defense rather than worry about a hat trick."
