Professional baseball player Yang Do-geun of the Samsung Lions contributed to the team's five-game winning streak with a clutch hit.

Yang Do-geun did not make the starting lineup for the away game against the LG Twins at Jamsil Stadium on the 30th, but he made a significant impact in a critical moment.

In the top of the seventh inning, tied 1-1, Samsung's leadoff batter Lee Jae-hyun picked up a walk. Soon after, Kim Young-woong successfully executed a surprise bunt against the opponent. With no outs and runners on first and second, Samsung's bench put Yang Do-geun in as a pinch hitter. He drew a walk against the new pitcher Baek Seung-hyeon. With no outs and the bases loaded, Samsung took the lead 2-1 with a sacrifice fly by Kim Ji-chan.

In the eighth inning, which required additional scoring, the team transformed into a problem solver. Samsung capitalized on consecutive walks from Lewin Diaz and Kang Min-ho, along with Ryu Ji-hyuk's sacrifice bunt, creating an opportunity with one out and runners on second and third.

Lee Jae-hyun's pop-out to second base seemed to squander the opportunity, but Kim Young-woong drew a walk to load the bases. At the plate was Yang Do-geun, who capitalized on the second slider from Sung Dong-hyun, producing a single to right field. Two runners crossed home plate, widening the score to 4-1.

LG threatened in the bottom of the ninth with Shin Min-jae’s two-run single, narrowing the gap to one run, but there was no dramatic turn. Without Yang Do-geun's valuable hit, victory would not have been assured. Samsung defeated LG 4-3, marking their fifth consecutive win since the game against the KIA Tigers in Daegu on the 24th.

After the game, Yang Do-geun said, "There were other players in the bases-loaded situation, but I am thankful to the manager for giving me the chance to bat."

He continued, "In situations where we needed runs, we weren't able to convert well, but I got up to bat and managed to get a hit, which allowed the pitchers to pitch more comfortably, and I was happy about it."

Yang Do-geun also expressed his wish, saying, "For now, I have been focusing more on defense practice with Coach Son Joo-in than hitting since I have more opportunities as a defensive substitute. I want to play in as many games as possible and contribute to the team."

Manager Park Jin-man specifically praised, saying, "We were able to win thanks to the crucial runs Yang Do-geun provided in the lineup."
