The Samsung Lions' upward momentum continues unabated. They have now won six straight games.

On the 31st, Samsung claimed a 4-2 victory against the LG Twins in an away game at Jamsil Stadium, propelled by the strong performance of starting pitcher Won Tae-in. It was Won's first win in 38 days since his last victory against the KIA Tigers in Daegu on April 24.

Samsung, putting forward the 'Ace of Blue Blood' Won Tae-in as the starting pitcher, formed a lineup consisting of center fielder Kim Ji-chan, shortstop Lee Jae-hyun, left fielder Gu Ja-wook, designated hitter Lewin Diaz, catcher Kang Min-ho, first baseman Ryu Ji-hyuk, right fielder Park Seung-kyu, third baseman Kim Young-woong, and second baseman Yang Do-geun.

In response, LG formed a lineup featuring center fielder Park Hae-min, left fielder Kim Hyun-soo, designated hitter Austin Dean, catcher Park Dong-won, shortstop Oh Ji-hwan, right fielder Moon Sung-ju, third baseman Gu Bon-hyeok, first baseman Lee Young-bin, and second baseman Shin Min-jae. The starting pitcher was Yonny Chirinos.

Samsung scored three runs first in the second inning. After one out, Kang Min-ho reached base with a single to right field. Ryu Ji-hyuk's infield hit put runners on first and second base. Park Seung-kyu hit a single to center, bringing home the runner from second base, Kang Min-ho. It was 1-0. Ryu Ji-hyuk sprinted to third but was caught in a rundown. In the meantime, Park Seung-kyu advanced to second base. Kim Young-woong's infield hit allowed them to add one more run. With Yang Do-geun's single to center, they had two runners on base. Kim Ji-chan recorded their third run with a timely hit.

LG mounted a counterattack in the bottom of the second inning when lead-off hitter Park Dong-won hit a double to left-center. Although Oh Ji-hwan grounded out to first base, Park Dong-won advanced to third. Moon Sung-ju's sacrifice fly to center scored one run. Needing additional runs, Samsung had a chance in the sixth inning with a walk from lead-off hitter Lewin Diaz and a hit from Park Seung-kyu, putting runners on first and third with two outs. Kim Young-woong hit a timely single to left-center to add one more run.

In the sixth inning, LG seized an opportunity with a double from Austin Dean and a single to left by Park Dong-won, putting runners on first and third with no outs. Although Oh Ji-hwan grounded into a double play, third base runner Austin Dean tagged home, recording their second run.

In the eighth inning, lead-off hitter Park Hae-min reached base with a hit and took second base on a defensive error by the opponent. First baseman Ryu Ji-hyuk made a diving catch on a likely hit from Kim Hyun-soo. Shortly after, Austin's fly ball was caught by left fielder Gu Ja-wook. With two outs and a runner on second, Park Dong-won was retired on a swinging strikeout.

Samsung's starting pitcher Won Tae-in earned his fourth victory of the season, pitching five innings and allowing five hits, one walk, four strikeouts, and two earned runs, throwing a total of 91 pitches.
