The KBO League's Kiwoom Heroes broke out of a 10-game losing streak with the return of Kenny Rosenberg.

Kiwoom won 1-0 against the Doosan Bears in a regular season game held at Gocheok Sky Dome on the 31st. This victory marks Kiwoom's escape from the losing streak, bringing their record to 15 wins, 44 losses, and 1 tie. Doosan remained at 23 wins, 31 losses, and 3 ties.

Doosan started Jack Logue. The lineup featured Jung Soo-bin (center fielder), Cave (right fielder), Yang Eui-ji (catcher), Kim Jae-hwan (designated hitter), Yang Seok-hwan (first baseman), Kim Min-seok (left fielder), Kang Seung-ho (second baseman), Lim Jong-sung (third baseman), and Park Gye-beom (shortstop).

Kiwoom's foreign pitcher Kenny Rosenberg, who returned after a ten-day break, took the mound as a starter. The starting lineup included Song Seong-moon (third baseman), Choi Joo-hwan (designated hitter), Cardenas (right fielder), Lee Joo-hyung (center fielder), Kim Keon-hee (catcher), Lee Hyung-jong (left fielder), Lim Ji-yeol (first baseman), Song Ji-hoo (second baseman), and Oh Seon-jin (shortstop).

Kiwoom, caught in a franchise-record 10-game losing slump, scored the first run in the first inning. In the bottom of the first, with one out and no runners on base, Choi Joo-hwan lifted Jack Logue's 142 km/h two-seam fastball over the fence for a solo home run, taking a 1-0 lead.

Rosenberg delivered an impressive pitching performance on the mound. He pitched perfectly until one out in the fifth inning, when he walked Yang Seok-hwan. However, he induced Kim Min-seok into a groundout to second base for the first out, and struck out Kang Seung-ho, passing the midpoint of the game.

In the sixth inning, he allowed a single to lead-off hitter Lim Jong-sung and gave up a sacrifice bunt to Park Gye-beom, putting one out and runners on second base in a jam. However, he induced Jung Soo-bin into a groundout, and got Cave to fly out to left field, overcoming the crisis.

In the seventh, he gave a walk to Yang Seok-hwan with two outs. But he handled Kim Min-seok with a fly out to left field, maintaining a shutout performance through the seventh. However, the eighth inning proved to be a turning point for Rosenberg. After one out, he walked Lim Jong-sung. During the fifth pitch, Kiwoom manager Hong Won-ki was ejected for protesting a check swing ruling.

Rosenberg pitched 7⅓ innings, throwing 101 pitches, allowing 1 hit, 3 walks, and striking out 5 without allowing a run. Subsequently, closer Joo Seung-woo came in.

Joo Seung-woo handled Kim In-tae with a groundout, creating a situation of two outs and a runner on second base. Then, he walked Jung Soo-bin and Cave consecutively, creating a bases-loaded crisis with two outs.

It seemed he would allow a line drive single to Yang Eui-ji, but second baseman Kim Tae-jin was positioned in the infield. Kim Tae-jin made a spectacular defensive play to finish the inning. All Kiwoom players, including Rosenberg, celebrated. Kiwoom held on to their victory in the ninth inning against Won Jong-hyun.

Doosan's starter Jack Logue also delivered a pitching performance comparable to Rosenberg's. He threw 7 innings, throwing 91 pitches, allowing 2 hits (1 home run), 2 walks, and 1 run before leaving the mound. However, the batting lineup fell silent with only 1 hit, facing defeat. In the ninth inning, Doosan got a chance with a one-out single from Kim Jae-hwan to right field and a sacrifice bunt from Kim Jun-sang for two outs and a runner on second base, but Kim Min-seok and Kang Seung-ho both made outs.

Kiwoom, after Choi Joo-hwan's home run in the first inning, failed to create further significant opportunities and did not score additional runs, but the stellar performance from Rosenberg and Kim Tae-jin's defensive play led to their escape from a 10-game losing streak.
