The Korea Racing Authority (Chairman Jeong Gi-hwan) announced on the 30th that it held a fund delivery ceremony for the "2025 Local Activation Startup and Growth Support Project (hereinafter referred to as the Support Project)" in collaboration with the Korea Social Enterprise Promotion Agency, the Gyeonggi Community Chest of Korea, and Cheonggrami on the 29th.
This project, now in its third year, aims to revitalize the local economy and realize social value by supporting social economy enterprises. Selected corporations will receive up to 20 million won in project funding, along with 1:1 customized consulting and various growth support programs such as market access assistance.
This year, five corporations were selected: Waro, which operates a local food-based salad social franchise supporting young people preparing for independence; Oneul, which developed an eco-friendly puree juice; Mill Project, which created crispy rice syrup balls from Iksan rice; Savers Korea, which upcycles discarded soap into liquid soap; and Vision Culture, which creates integrated content centered on pet culture.
"The creativity and growth potential unique to social economy corporations are future growth engines for the local economy and act as a catalyst for raising regional culture and values," said Chairman Jeong Gi-hwan, adding, "This year, we are excited to support various fields, including ESG, animal welfare, and regional culture and arts, and we will continue to actively support excellent local startup cases."
Meanwhile, a demo day for impact investment consulting was also held. This year’s selected corporations, as well as previously selected corporations such as Korea Specialty Products Distribution Co., Hyangchon Dang, and D.Able, participated in meaningful sessions aimed at new leaps and growth, including IR presentations and follow-up investment consultations with investors.
