"It's okay," "Let’s do it tomorrow."

Kia Tigers infielder Yoon Do-hyun (22) was suddenly substituted due to a hamstring cramp during base running. The Kia dugout was anxious, thinking another hamstring injury had occurred following Kim Do-young the previous day. Despite there being no significant issue, he was substituted for precautionary reasons. It was not an injury serious enough to require a hospital check-up.

Yoon Do-hyun was named in the starting lineup as the second baseman for the game against the Kiwoom Heroes on the 28th at Gwangju-Kia Champions Field. In four at-bats, he contributed with a solo home run during the chase and a tying hit, recording 2 hits, 2 RBIs, and 1 run scored. The team achieved a big win with a score of 13-7.

In his first at-bat in the 1st inning, he reached first base due to an error by the second baseman and in the 2nd inning with 1 out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he was retired on a fly ball to center field. However, leading off in the 5th inning, trailing 2-6, he seized on a slider from Kiwoom starter Kim Yun-ju and hit a solo home run over the left field wall. It was his first home run of the season. Kia capitalized on the momentum, scoring 3 runs to narrow the gap to 5-6.

His next at-bat was also notable. In the 6th inning, with a hit from lead-off batter Kim Kyu-sung and a sacrifice bunt from Park Chan-ho leading to 1 out and runners on 2nd and 1st, he hit a timely single to right field off Kiwoom pitcher Won Jong-hyun, tying the game. However, after stepping on first base, he paused for a moment. The head coach and the athletic trainer rushed over to assess the situation and signaled for a substitution, saying, "Just go back. Let’s do it tomorrow."

In that moment, Director Lee Beom-ho looked disheartened, thinking another injury had occurred. Fortunately, it was not a major injury. The team explained, "Yoon had a cramp in his right thigh. He said he was okay, but the coaching staff decided to substitute him for precautionary reasons. He only had ice treatment without a hospital check-up."

After the game, Yoon Do-hyun responded to interviews in good condition. "The tying hit was to center field, and I thought I could make it to 2nd base, but then I stopped, feeling a bit surprised. I thought there might be a sign for a steal, so I called time and took a moment to rest, but the coach suggested substituting me and said, 'Let’s do it tomorrow.' I briefly touched my hamstring, and that’s when they decided to substitute me," he explained.

Kia faced major trouble the previous day. Star player Kim Do-young suffered a hamstring injury while successfully stealing a base. After precise examinations, he was diagnosed with a second-degree hamstring strain. He will need to undergo re-examination in 4 weeks to determine his return timeline. He sustained a more severe injury compared to the left hamstring injury he had during the opening game, making a return in the first half of the season unlikely.

Yoon Do-hyun was called up to the first team after Kim Sun-bin was sidelined due to a calf injury. He filled the void with high-quality hitting. Fans, who were saddened by Kim Do-young's second injury, applauded Yoon Do-hyun's performance. Although he created tense moments, there were no issues.
