"I think there is somewhat of a misunderstanding between us."

Samsung Lions catcher Kang Min-ho opened up about the bench clearing incident that occurred during the home game against the Lotte Giants on the 29th.

The situation is as follows. In the top of the fifth inning, with Lotte leading 2-0, Samsung's starting pitcher Choi Won-tae hit Jeon Jun-woo in the left side.

On the 17th, during the second game of a doubleheader against Samsung, Jeon Jun-woo, who had been hit by a pitch thrown by Choi Won-tae, appeared to head toward the mound.

In response, catcher Kang Min-ho embraced Jeon Jun-woo and stepped in to mediate. Captain Koo Ja-wook also tried to calm Choi Won-tae and restore the atmosphere.

Choi Won-tae, who had no intention of hitting, said something to Jeon Jun-woo as he walked toward first base, and Jeon Jun-woo, still angry, seemed to charge toward the mound. This led to a tense situation as players from both teams came onto the field. Fortunately, it ended without any collision.

Choi Won-tae approached Jeon Jun-woo again, bowed, and apologized, and Jeon Jun-woo smiled and accepted the apology.

Kang Min-ho said after the game, "I think there is somewhat of a misunderstanding between us. Jeon Jun-woo was hit by a pitch thrown by Choi Won-tae during the game in Busan, and it seems that Jeon wasn't pleased with Choi's gesture at the time."

He added, "It would have been sufficient to just apologize to Jeon Jun-woo, but from Choi Won-tae's perspective, he showed a reaction of 'Why are you reacting toward me?' so it seems a misunderstanding occurred."

Kang Min-ho also stated, "In my view, Choi Won-tae was at fault. In some ways, there is a senior-junior culture unique to Korean baseball, and Choi's actions were somewhat disappointing. I and captain Koo Ja-wook spoke to Choi separately about that."

On the 17th, when a bench clearing incident occurred during the game against Lotte, Kang Min-ho, who took the lead in calming the situation, said, "I think I should take the lead in mediating since I know the friends on the Lotte team."

He added, "Since many young fans also come to the baseball stadium, I believe we shouldn't show bad behavior. It could negatively impact the popularity of baseball, so I intervened more actively. When heated players were present, I approached them to talk separately."
