The Seoul SK Knights basketball team (Director General Jang Ji-taek) announced that they have signed a free agent contract with the league's top forward and last season's MVP, Ahn Young-jun, for a period of 5 years at a total compensation of 750 million won (annual salary of 525 million won and incentives of 225 million won).
They also announced that they have signed a free agent contract with guard Kim Nak-hyun for a period of 5 years at a total compensation of 450 million won (annual salary of 315 million won and incentives of 135 million won).
Ahn Young-jun noted, "I have many good memories of winning twice with the team since joining as a rookie in 2017, growing alongside my teammates. I am particularly disappointed about missing the championship finals this season, and I had a strong desire to challenge for the championship again with SK. The team recognized me as a key player, and the coach has continually expressed that I am essential for the direction the team needs to take, which led me to decide to stay with the team."
Kim Nak-hyun expressed, "I was able to change teams thanks to a good offer from SK, which is a prestigious and strong team. With many good colleagues, including my peer Ahn Young-jun, I will do my best under the guidance of head coach Jeong Hee-cheol to contribute to the team's fourth championship."
After successfully signing key free agents Ahn Young-jun and Kim Nak-hyun, the SK Knights plan to quickly negotiate for strengthening the team's lineup during the remaining free agency period and finalize the composition of domestic players.
