Kia Tigers staged a comeback to earn their second consecutive victory.

Kia defeated Kiwoom Heroes 13-7 at the 2025 Shinhan Bank SOL Bank KBO League game held at Gwangju-Kia Champions Field on the 28th, with 17 hits. Oh Sun-woo hit home runs for two consecutive days, Yoon Do-hyun hit a chasing home run and a game-tying hit, and Choi Hyung-woo delivered the game-winning hit. Securing the winning series, they returned to a .500 winning percentage with 26 wins and 26 losses. Kiwoom suffered their ninth consecutive loss.

Kiwoom batters shook Kia starter Yang Hyun-jong in the first inning. Song Sung-moon got on base with a hit on the first pitch and successfully stole second base. Baseball prodigy Lee Jong-beom broke the record for consecutive steals by surpassing the 29 consecutive steals set in 1997, establishing a new record of 30 consecutive steals. Soon after, Choi Joo-hwan brought him home with a single.

Kia failed to capitalize on a two-out, one-and-two base opportunity in the first inning. In the bottom of the second, after one out, Hwang Dae-in hit a double to left field, and with a walk by Kim Ho-ryeong and a single by Kim Gyu-seong, they loaded the bases. Park Chan-ho's sacrifice fly brought one run home, and then in the third inning, Oh Sun-woo hit a home run for two consecutive games, leveling the score.

Yang Hyun-jong found stability starting in the second inning and held off the batters for three scoreless innings. However, after two outs in the fifth, he suddenly faltered after throwing a bad pitch. Kiwoom capitalized on a single by Cardenas, a single by Lee Joo-hyung, and a walk by pinch hitter Lim Ji-yeol to load the bases. Catcher Kim Keon-hee hit a poorly thrown fastball for a bases-clearing triple, taking a 5-2 lead. Lee Hyung-jong also brought in a run with a single, extending the lead to 6-2.

Kia, even without Kim Do-young, did not back down. In the bottom of the fifth, Yoon Do-hyun hit a solo home run to left field (his first) to ignite the comeback. After one out, Choi Hyung-woo hit a double to right center, and Kim Tae-gun's single created an opportunity with runners on first and third. They narrowed the gap by one run due to a wild pitch by Park Yoon-sung, who replaced Kiwoom starter Kim Yeon-joo, and a single by Kim Seok-hwan, which resulted in an error by the opposing right fielder, allowing Kim Tae-gun to score, making it 5-6.

In the sixth, they once again created a big inning and succeeded in the comeback. Kim Gyu-seong got an infield single, and after a sacrifice bunt by Park Chan-ho, Yoon Do-hyun hit a timely single to tie the game at 6-6. Oh Sun-woo's single and Choi Hyung-woo's sacrifice fly put them in the lead. Then, Kim Tae-gun hit a double to left field to extend the lead, followed by a hit by Kim Seok-hwan and consecutive singles by Hwang Dae-in and Kim Ho-ryeong, widening the score to 10-6.

In the bottom of the eighth, Kim Ho-ryeong hit a two-run double. In a crisis situation where Na Sung-bum, Kim Sun-bin, Patrick Wisdom, and Kim Do-young were all out due to injuries, new faces stepped up with impressive hitting to secure the winning streak. Kia starter Yang Hyun-jong struggled, allowing 10 hits and 2 walks over 4 ⅔ innings, with 6 earned runs. In the fifth, Seong Yeong-tak came in relief to prevent further scoring, and lefty Lee Jun-young and side-armer Yoon Jong-hyeon followed up with scoreless pitching, paving the way for the comeback.

Kiwoom's lineup scored 6 runs by the fifth inning, but the mound could not hold the lead. Starter Kim Yeon-joo, who pitched well with 1 earned run over 10 innings in the last two games, allowed 7 hits (2 home runs) and 4 earned runs over 4 ⅓ innings. Park Yoon-sung allowed 1 earned run, and the relief efforts of Won Jong-hyeon, who could not stop the Kia lineup, led to 4 earned runs, resulting in the loss. Three errors also hindered their performance. Lim Ji-yeol hit a solo home run in the ninth.
