Hanwha Eagles player Ahn Chi-hong has returned to the first team.

On the 28th, Hanwha registered Ahn Chi-hong in the first team roster ahead of the game against the LG Twins. Ahn Chi-hong will start as a designated hitter.

That day, Hanwha's starting lineup will include Floriel (center fielder), Ha Ju-suk (shortstop), Moon Hyun-bin (left fielder), Roh Si-hwan (third baseman), Chae Eun-seong (first baseman), Lee Jin-young (right fielder), Ahn Chi-hong (designated hitter), Choi Jae-hun (catcher), and Hwang Young-mook (second baseman).

Ahn Chi-hong experienced poor condition early in the season due to stomach pain after the opening. In early May, wrist pain compounded the issue, leaving him with low batting performance. He recorded a batting average of .098 (5 hits in 51 at-bats) with 5 RBIs and an OPS of .277 in 16 games, and was removed from the first team roster on the 6th.

Ahn Chi-hong recently played in the Futures League to sharpen his skills. On the 27th, he started as the first baseman in a Futures League game against the Goyang Heroes, recording 2 hits, including a home run, in 3 at-bats along with 1 RBI and 1 walk.

Ahn Chi-hong participated in an exchange match against the SoftBank Hawks' third team held in Seosan from the 23rd to the 25th. He recorded no hits in 3 at-bats and 2 walks on the 23rd, no hits in 4 at-bats on the 24th, and 2 hits and 2 RBIs in 5 at-bats on the 25th, showing improving batting performance.

With consecutive multi-hit games, Ahn Chi-hong hit a 2-RBI double in his last at-bat and even scored a home run in the game against Goyang on the 27th. One could say his batting performance has been recovering to some extent with consecutive multi-hit games.

Hanwha's ace Ponce will be the starting pitcher. This season, Ponce has appeared in 11 games (72 innings), recording 8 wins, no losses, an earned run average of 1.63, and 97 strikeouts.

He ranks first in earned run average, tied for first in wins, first in strikeouts, and is second in innings pitched behind Samsung's After (12 games, 77⅔ innings). He beats all players in WHIP with a score of 0.88 and leads in opponents' batting average at .177.
