The franchise star of Industrial Bank of Korea (IBK) leaves the team after 15 years. Middle blocker Kim Hee-jin will wear the Hyundai E&C uniform.
Hyundai E&C Hillstate Volleyball Team officially announced on the 26th that it has signed veteran player Kim Hee-jin (34) from IBK to fill the gap in the middle blocker position.
This trade was finalized on the morning of the 23rd through discussions with IBK, based on rookie player draft rights (2nd round for the 2026-2027 season) and cash.
Kim Hee-jin has changed teams for the first time in 15 years since joining the newly established team as a priority draft pick of IBK when it was founded in 2010, taking on a new challenge.
Kim Hee-jin, a national representative who participated in the Olympics three times—in London (2012), Rio (2016), and Tokyo (2020)—is a multi-position resource capable of playing both middle blocker (MB) and outside hitter (OP).
Kim Hee-jin stated through the club, "I had a great desire to challenge once again, and thanks to the respect from IBK for that wish, I was able to transfer to Hyundai E&C. I am grateful to the IBK volleyball team and want to prove my value once again in the new team. As I have been given this opportunity, I will do my best to show good results."
Hyundai E&C coach Kang Sung-hyung noted, "The acquisition of Kim Hee-jin will greatly help in enhancing the strength of the middle blocker position. Although she is not yet in perfect condition, we will spare no support to help her quickly adapt to the team and elevate her skills."
Through this acquisition, the Hyundai E&C volleyball team is expected to strengthen its competitiveness by complementing its next strength.
