Seo Sugil, president of the Korea Billiard Federation (KBF), has been inaugurated as the 5th president of the Asian Carom Billiard Confederation (ACBC).

The billiard federation announced on the 26th that Seo was elected as the 5th ACBC president through a vote on the 14th and officially began his term during the ACBC inauguration ceremony held recently during the Ho Chi Minh Three Cushion World Cup.

In this regard, it emphasized that "the federation noted that the carom discipline is rapidly growing in major Asian countries such as Korea and Vietnam. As such, with Seo Sugil's inauguration, it has been evaluated as a turning point for Asian billiards to make a leap forward, which has become even more important for the role of ACBC."

Seo is expected to continuously promote strategic links in billiard administration at home and abroad while holding both the KBF and ACBC presidency. Through this, the federation anticipates a practical synergy between the policy direction of Korean billiards and the development strategy of Asian billiards.

In his inaugural address, Seo stated that "the growth of billiards in China, Saudi Arabia, and Middle Eastern countries is important for the development of billiards in Asia." Additionally, he presented major tasks such as ▲ expanding ACBC member countries ▲ promoting the mutual growth of billiards disciplines through cooperation with pool, nine-ball, and snooker ▲ expanding its role as a continental federation under the Union Mondiale de Billard (UMB) ▲ preparing for the 2030 Doha Asian Games and efforts to have billiards adopted as an official Olympic event, expressing his aspirations for a new leap for ACBC.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by key billiards figures, including Faruk Baroki, president of the World Billiards Federation (UMB), Bui Huy Nam, CEO of Vietnam’s public broadcaster VTVcab, and Jason Gan, CEO of Xingpai. A strategic MOU signing ceremony between ACBC and VTVcab also took place.

Meanwhile, Lee Minwon, chief operating officer (COO) of Forest Company and media marketing advisor for UMB, has been elected as the new secretary-general of ACBC and will lead the new executive body of ACBC.
