Doosan Bears added a valuable victory thanks to the offensive and defensive performance of Lim Jong-sung, dubbed the 'second Heo Kyung-min'.

The Doosan Bears of the Korea Professional Baseball League achieved a comeback victory of 5-3 against the NC Dinos in the sixth match of the season held on the 25th at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul.

Doosan marked their first victory of the season against NC, finishing the weekend series with 1 win, 1 draw, and 1 loss. The season record stands at 21 wins, 3 draws, and 28 losses. Meanwhile, NC's four-game winning streak was halted, resulting in a record of 23 wins, 2 draws, and 23 losses.

The first point went to NC. In the first inning, lead-off batter Choi Jeong-won reached base on a hit-by-pitch from Doosan starter Jack Logue, followed by Kim Joo-won hitting a single to center on Logue's first pitch. The two players then executed a surprise double steal, putting runners on second and third base with no outs, and Choi Jeong-won scored on a shortstop error while Kim Joo-won scored on a single to right field by Park Geon-woo. NC led 2-0.

In the second inning, with one out, Kim Hwi-jip hit a double, and Kim Han-byeol reached on a single to left, setting up runners on first and third. When Choi Jeong-won attempted a squeeze bunt, 3rd base runner Kim Hwi-jip scored after video review showed that catcher Kim Gi-yeon failed to apply the tag. However, a one-out, bases loaded opportunity following a walk to Kim Joo-won was wasted as Park Min-woo and Park Geon-woo struck out in succession.

Doosan launched a counterattack at the bottom of the second inning. Lead-off batter Lim Jong-sung and Park Gye-beom hit consecutive singles, and Jeong Su-bin reached on a fielder's choice, placing runners on first and third with one out. O Myeong-jin then hit a sacrifice fly to left field.

In the bottom of the third, lead-off batters Yang Eui-ji, Yang Seok-hwan, and Kim Jae-hwan all walked consecutively, leading to the removal of NC starter Choi Seong-young. With the bases loaded and no outs, Kim Gi-yeon managed to hit into a double play against the newly substituted pitcher Jeon Sa-min, but during the play, 3rd base runner Yang Eui-ji scored, closing the gap to 2-3.

The critical moment came in the bottom of the fifth inning. With one out, Yang Eui-ji and Yang Seok-hwan hit consecutive singles, and Kim Jae-hwan drew a walk after a seven-pitch battle, creating a bases-loaded opportunity. Then Kim Gi-yeon earned a walk off new pitcher Son Joo-hwan, scoring the tying run, and with the bases still loaded, Lim Jong-sung hit a sacrifice fly to center, turning the score around. It was the decisive hit.

Doosan's batting lineup came alive again in the bottom of the eighth. Lead-off batter Lim Jong-sung hit a single to left, and Jeong Su-bin walked to set up a two-out, first and second base opportunity, where Jake Cave delivered a one-run single to right, sealing the victory.

Starting pitcher Jack Logue threw six innings, allowing five hits, four walks, striking out six while giving up three runs for a quality start, earning his third win of the season (4 losses). Following him, Lee Young-ha (two-thirds of an inning, no runs) and Park Chi-guk (two-thirds of an inning, no runs) pitched, and Kim Taek-yeon recorded his eighth save of the season.

In the batting lineup, Cave had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 RBI, Lim Jong-sung had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 RBI and 2 runs scored, and Park Gye-beom contributed with 2 hits in 4 at-bats. Yang Eui-ji and Yang Seok-hwan both recorded 1 hit and 2 walks, while Kim Jae-hwan walked three times, each achieving a total of three times on base.

NC starter Choi Seong-young was removed after two innings, allowing three hits, five walks, striking out two while giving up two runs. The losing pitcher, Jeon Sa-min, recorded 2 and one-third innings, allowing two runs (none earned). The two hits from Kim Joo-won and Kim Hwi-jip went unnoticed in the defeat.

After a day off, Doosan will face KT Wiz in a three-game midweek series starting on the 27th in Suwon. NC will travel to Incheon to meet the SSG Landers.
