In mid-June, pitcher Lee Jung-yong, who is returning to LG Twins after military discharge, recorded three consecutive quality starts in the Futures League.

On the 24th, Lee Jung-yong made his debut as the starting pitcher in the game against the Goyang Heroes in the 2025 Futures League, held at the Mun gyeong Stadium. He became the winning pitcher with six innings pitched, allowing six hits, one walk, two strikeouts, and three runs (two earned). Sangmu won decisively, 14-6.

Lee Jung-yong successfully navigated a crisis in the first inning. He allowed a single to Ko Young-woo immediately after the start, and walked Byeon Sang-gwon, creating a first and second base situation with no outs. He recorded two outs by getting Yang Hyun-jong to hit into a ground ball double play. With two outs and a runner on third, he ended the inning without allowing a run by getting Lim Ji-yeol to hit a ground ball to the shortstop.

In the second inning, he retired the side in order. He recorded an out against Sim Hwi-yun on a fly ball to center field, got Lee Myung-ki out on a ground ball to second base, and retired Park Seong-bin on a fly ball to second base.

Sangmu took the first lead in the bottom of the second inning with Kim Jae-sang's RBI single with one out and runners on first and third base. With one out and the bases loaded, Ryu Seung-min, Ryu Hyun-in, and Lee Jae-won each drew consecutive walks, making the score 4-0. A sacrifice fly by Han Dong-hee and a two-run double by Yoon Jun-ho with two outs and runners on second and third pushed the lead to 7-0.

In the third inning, Lee Jung-yong allowed a leadoff batter to reach base due to a throwing error by the shortstop. After giving up a single to Yang Kyung-sik, he faced a first and second base crisis with no outs and allowed a run with a single to Ko Young-woo. He managed the situation by getting Byeon Sang-gwon out with a pop-up to second base and Yang Hyun-jong out with a ground ball double play.

In the fourth inning, he again retired the side in order. He got Lim Ji-yeol and Sim Hwi-yun out on ground balls, and struck out Lee Myung-ki. He retired the side in order in the fifth inning, finishing the inning with three ground ball outs.

In the sixth inning, after one out, he allowed a hit to Byeon Sang-gwon in the right center, and after two outs, he gave up a single to Lim Ji-yeol, leading to runners on first and second base. He allowed two additional runs with a triple by Sim Hwi-yun that split the outfielders.

Lee Jung-yong became the winning pitcher with a performance of six innings, allowing three hits, striking out seven, and giving up no runs in the game against the Doosan Bears on the 6th. On the 17th, he recorded six innings, allowing eight hits, striking out three, and giving up two runs (one earned) in the game against the KT Wiz. In three starting appearances in May, he recorded quality starts in all of them, with an earned run average of 1.50 over 18 innings with three earned runs. Lee, who joined Sangmu after winning the Korean Series in the 2023 season, will be discharged on June 17.

Lee Jung-yong is currently pitching as a starter in Sangmu, which allows him to provide rest to the existing starting rotation and potentially serve as a replacement starter upon returning to LG.
