SSC Napoli's transfer market strategy is aimed at France. With Kevin De Bruyne (34, Manchester City) as the top target, they are simultaneously tracking three attacking players, including Edon Zhegrova and Jonathan David from Lille OSC, as well as Lee Kang-in (24) from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
Italy's 'Tutto Napoli' quoted 'Corriere dello Sport' on the 25th (Korea time) stating, "Napoli's new Director General Giovanni Manuel is actively moving in France. Zhegrova, the winger from Lille, has already been secured, and David and Lee Kang-in are also on the list."
According to reports, Manuel has essentially 'secured' Edon Zhegrova, a winger from the Kosovo national team currently active at Lille. He holds German nationality and has a contract until 2026; however, a move to Napoli has become imminent based on the new coach's tactical requirements. Zhegrova is known for his quick breakthrough ability and utilization on the flank.
Another main target is Canadian forward Jonathan David, a teammate. According to descriptions, he is also a target for Juventus, and fierce competition for his acquisition is expected between the two teams. David, hailing from Brooklyn, New York, is currently performing as a starting striker at Lille this season and has already been proven on the European stage.
Additionally, Lee Kang-in (24) has newly been added to the Napoli list. Currently playing at PSG, Lee's playing time has decreased since the middle of this season, and reports indicate that "he also has the desire for a new challenge." Napoli evaluates him as an 'attacking midfielder resource'; however, the high transfer fee demanded by PSG is likely to be a significant variable.
This is not the first time Lee Kang-in's transfer to Napoli has been rumored. Earlier, on the 9th, Italy's 'Napoli Più' noted, "According to multiple reports, Napoli has included Liverpool's Darwin Núñez, Jonathan David, whose contract expires with Lille, and Lee Kang-in from Paris Saint-Germain as a winger resource on the list."
The media stated at that time, "Lee has shown inconsistency this season, but he is still recognized for his potential as a creative resource."
De Bruyne, Zhegrova, David, and Lee Kang-in. Ahead of the summer transfer market, Napoli is keeping various options open for strengthening both the midfield and the frontline across Europe.
Meanwhile, PSG defeated Stade de Reims 3-0 in the final of the 2024-2025 Coupe de France (French Cup) held at Stade de France in Saint-Denis, France, on the 25th. Lee Kang-in was listed on the substitute roster but did not get a chance to play, raising his sixth trophy with PSG.
