Professional baseball Doosan Bears franchise outfielder Jeong Soo-bin has kept his promise to a fan who gladly returned the 1,500th hit home run ball.

Jeong Soo-bin decorated his personal 1,500th hit with a home run during a home game against the KIA Tigers in the 2025 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League held at Seoul's Jamsil Stadium on April 19.

After appearing as the leadoff batter in the bottom of the first inning, Jeong Soo-bin hit a leading solo home run against KIA starter Adam Oller. After establishing a favorable count of 2 balls and 1 strike, he connected on a 150 km/h fastball on the fourth pitch, resulting in a home run with a distance of 115 meters. This marked his first home run of the season and his third home run as a leadoff batter in the bottom of the first inning.

Debuting in professional baseball in 2009 and signing a 6-year, 5.6 billion won free agent contract in 2021, Jeong Soo-bin has built his personal 1,500-hit milestone with this home run. This is the 50th record in KBO League history and the first record for a left-handed batter and outfielder in the Bears franchise. Jeong Soo-bin also achieved the milestone of being the 48th player to appear in 1,700 games in KBO League history on this day.

Immediately after the home run, the Doosan club successfully retrieved the home run ball by moving to the right field stands. A Doosan official noted, "We were uncertain about retrieving the ball, but thankfully the fan gladly returned it."

During the game, Jeong Soo-bin, who received news of the home run ball's retrieval in the dugout, contemplated how to reward the fan and requested a seat upgrade from the club. He gifted the fan, who was sitting in the outfield stands, a central VIP premium seat valued at 80,000 won per ticket. A Doosan official revealed, "The fan moved to the central VIP seats with their group to watch the game from the start of the fourth inning."

Jeong Soo-bin's exceptional fan service didn't stop there. Jeong Soo-bin said, "I plan to offer additional benefits to the fan who returned the ball," and he intended to invite the fan back to Jamsil Stadium on the 23rd for the match against the NC Dinos, where he would be able to keep his promise with the club's consideration.

On that day, Jeong Soo-bin personally gifted the fan who gladly returned the 1,500th hit home run ball with a game-worn jersey, signed balls, batting gloves, and more. Additionally, he also self-funded central VIP seats for the fan's group for that day's game. The fan who received Jeong Soo-bin's special gifts said, "I've always been a fan of Jeong Soo-bin, who works hard and shines. I will continue to support him to show great performances in the remaining games."

In response, Jeong Soo-bin conveyed, "I sincerely thank the fan who gladly returned a ball that holds special meaning for me. I will do my best to continue to accumulate good records and bring joy to the fans."
