Professional baseball LG Twins pitcher Kim Jin-sung decided to file an objection regarding a record. He is disputing whether the game-ending hit should not be considered an error.

Kim Jin-sung became the losing pitcher after allowing a walk-off hit in the bottom of the 9th inning against the SSG Landers at Incheon SSG Landers Field on the 24th.

With the game tied at 4-4 in the bottom of the 9th, Kim Jin-sung came in as a relief pitcher and after one out, he allowed a double that went past Park Seong-han next to the 1st BASS. The next batter, Choi Jeong, was sent to 1st base with an automatic intentional walk. Choi Jeong showed a good hitting sense today with 2 hits in 2 at-bats, including a home run, and took 1st base as it was open.

Kim Jin-sung allowed a big hit flying toward the left field fence to Han Yu-seom. It was a home run-type hit, but it did not extend at the end and seemed catchable for the left fielder in front of the fence.

Left fielder Kim Hyun-soo seemed to catch it in front of the fence, but he dropped the ball at the moment of his last catch. The runner on second base ran home to score the game-winning run. The game ended somewhat disappointingly.

The record was a game-winning hit by Han Yu-seom. After the game, Han Yu-seom said, "I thought it was a home run. I jumped (while watching the hit) thinking it was a home run," and laughed, adding, "It should be counted as a hit. Thank you for giving me a hit. But that really should be given as a hit. Every single one is so precious..."

The thoughts of the LG players were slightly different. Before the game on the 25th, Kim Jin-sung said, "Hyun-soo said it was his mistake and told me to file a record objection. So I am planning to do it." Kim Hyun-soo felt that he missed a hit that he could have caught.

The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) has a system for reviewing record objections. A club or player can submit a written record objection to the KBO office within 24 hours after the game, regarding the official scorer's decision on hits, errors, and fielder's choices. The review of the objection is conducted by three people: the head of the records committee, the head of the team of the records committee, and the manager of the game in question. The decision on any corrections is notified within five days from the submission deadline.

There have been two record corrections this season. On April 8, in the game between LG and Kiwoom at Gocheok, the hit by Moon Bo-gyeong in the 2nd inning was corrected to an error. On April 11, in the game between Samsung and KT in Suwon, the hit by Ryu Ji-hyeok in the 5th inning was changed from an error to a hit.
