Park Hyun-kyoung (25, Mediheal), who succeeded in winning the KLPGA Tour’s season first victory, has decided to donate the entire prize money.

After winning with a total of 16 under par 200 (67-67-66) at the '13th E1 Charity Open' (total prize money of 1 billion won, winner's prize of 180 million won) held at the Yeoju Ferrum Club (par 72, qualifying: 6,569 yards, final: 6,366 yards) on the afternoon of the 25th, Park Hyun-kyoung mentioned 'full donation' during an interview with the broadcasting team.

The background for Park Hyun-kyoung's decision to donate the full amount was influenced by the purpose of this event. As stated in the name of the event, the '13th E1 Charity Open' is a representative charity event of the KLPGA Tour.

Park Hyun-kyoung had promised to donate 13% of the prize money while participating in the tournament. It was interpreted that this decision was made because this year is the 13th.

However, in her victory interview, Park Hyun-kyoung stated, 'I will raise the donation rate from 13% to 100%. I will join the purpose of the event to spread good influence and donate the full amount.'

With this victory, Park Hyun-kyoung increased her total KLPGA Tour career victories to '8'. Park Hyun-kyoung noted, 'I was going to donate the full prize money when I achieved 10 career wins, but I think donating to a charity event is more meaningful.' The event, hosted by E1 Corporation, a company specializing in environmentally friendly liquefied petroleum gas, has raised the total prize money by 100 million won to 1 billion won this year.

The final day of the '13th E1 Charity Open' unfolded as a match play between Park Hyun-kyoung and Lee Chae-eun, both of the same team. Lee Chae-eun started the final day's match with 11 under par while Park Hyun-kyoung was at 10 under par in 1st and 2nd place, respectively.

The first shot was taken by Park Hyun-kyoung.

Park Hyun-kyoung quickly took a three-shot lead by making a chip-in eagle on the par 5 9th hole. However, Lee Chae-eun's aggression was also noticeable. Lee Chae-eun succeeded in an eagle putt from 2.1 yards after hitting one on the par 4 4th hole.

Buoyed by her momentum, Lee Chae-eun succeeded in consecutive birdies on the 13th and 14th holes, tying with Park Hyun-kyoung at the top. Park Hyun-kyoung had set her score at 15 under par with a birdie on the 11th hole.

Both players made a birdie on the 17th hole, remaining at a tie of 16 under par. Only the 18th hole remained in the regular round.

The final showdown ended rather blandly. Lee Chae-eun's second shot was pulled left and went out of bounds. Losing a stroke at this hole meant Lee Chae-eun had to settle for second place.
