Son Heung-min (33, Tottenham) enjoyed the joy of victory once again in front of Tottenham fans during the bus parade.

Tottenham held a parade in central London on the 24th (Korean time) to celebrate their victory in the UEFA Europa League (UEL).

On the 22nd, Tottenham lifted the official trophy 17 years after the League Cup in the 2007-2008 season by defeating Manchester United 1-0 in the UEL final held at Estadio San Mamés in Bilbao, Spain. It was a remarkable achievement that had not been accomplished in European club competitions since the 1983-1984 UEFA Cup.

This victory holds special significance for Son Heung-min as well. He was left out of the starting lineup for the match against Manchester United due to a foot injury suffered last month but came on as a substitute in the second half to help maintain the team's lead. He made his professional debut in the 2010 Bundesliga with Hamburg, and after joining Tottenham in 2015, he finally held a trophy for the first time in 10 years.

Wearing sunglasses and an outfit commemorating the victory, Son Heung-min fully enjoyed the open-top parade. He embraced the celebration of victory sent by the fans while acknowledging his teammates.

The bus carrying the Tottenham squad toured approximately 3 kilometers through downtown London. The fans gathered in the streets celebrated the victory with enthusiastic cheers.

According to British media outlet Football London, from atop the bus, Son Heung-min exclaimed to the fans, "Look at this. It's an amazing feeling. I will never forget this moment. Wow," expressing his admiration.

Son Heung-min noted, "I've dreamed of this moment. I'm so happy that I achieved this with Tottenham. I did it while wearing the Tottenham uniform. I'm really proud of our team. It feels like the last two days since the Manchester United match have gone by so fast. I feel like I’ve only slept for five hours and now it’s already Friday (haha). The last two days have been filled with joy and happiness. It was unbelievable," he smiled, adding, "Finally, the moment I've dreamed of has come. Our team has accomplished something that no one has done in 17 years."

Finally, he added, "I've always said I wanted to win with Tottenham. So today is truly a special day. I'm so happy that I can't express it all in words."

According to reports, Son Heung-min had such a great time celebrating the victory over the two days that his voice became hoarse.

Finally, Son Heung-min has broken his career 'winless' streak.

After making his professional debut in Germany with Hamburg in 2010 and moving through Bayer Leverkusen, Son Heung-min joined Tottenham in 2015 and has faced several near misses for trophies. He finished second in the Premier League during the 2016-2017 season, and in the 2018-2019 season, he had to settle for runners-up after losing to Liverpool in the Champions League (UCL) final. In the 2020-2021 season, he was unable to overcome Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final.

The only victory Son Heung-min has experienced since his professional debut was the gold medal he won at the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games as a member of the South Korean national football team.

Thus, Son Heung-min has finally won a trophy with his club, realizing his dream of victory after 15 years in professional football.

Son Heung-min has become another South Korean UEL champion, following former national team coach Cha Bum-kun. Cha won the UEFA Cup (now UEL) in 1980 and 1988 with Eintracht Frankfurt. Kim Dong-jin and Lee Ho also triumphed in this competition in 2008 while with Zenit Saint Petersburg.

However, Kim Dong-jin only participated for one minute during the second half as a substitute in the final, while Lee Ho was not included in the lineup.

When the victory was confirmed, Son Heung-min was captured on the broadcast screen embracing the coaching staff and shedding tears. He was also seen hugging his father, Son Woong-jung. Then he wrapped himself in the Korean flag and greeted the fans.
